Soil applied contains WG as an integrated management approach to white mold
Non-Peer Reviewed2017 and 2018 were not sclerotinia years according to the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture's provincial canola survey. Yet a local Irrigation Crop Diversification Corporation strip demonstration with Contans on an irrigated site near Riverhurst in the Lake Diefenbaker area showed modest yield response for both lentil and dry bean in 2017 and canola in 2018. What makes this result more remarkable is that the yield response occurred even though the grower applied a blanket treatment of foliar fungicide for sclerotinia control on both fields. Contans may potentially be applied through an irrigation pivot following harvest when soils are being recharged with moisture. Registration of this practice is currently being pursued
Symmetry of re-entrant tetragonal phase in Ba1-xNaxFe2As2: Magnetic versus orbital ordering mechanism
Magneto-structural phase transitions in Ba1-xAxFe2As2 (A = K, Na) materials
are discussed for both magnetically and orbitally driven mechanisms, using a
symmetry analysis formulated within the Landau theory of phase transitions.
Both mechanisms predict identical orthorhombic space-group symmetries for the
nematic and magnetic phases observed over much of the phase diagram, but they
predict different tetragonal space-group symmetries for the newly discovered
re-entrant tetragonal phase in Ba1-xNaxFe2As2 (x ~ 0.24-0.28). In a magnetic
scenario, magnetic order with moments along the c-axis, as found
experimentally, does not allow any type of orbital order, but in an orbital
scenario, we have determined two possible orbital patterns, specified by
P4/mnc1' and I4221' space groups, which do not require atomic displacements
relative to the parent I4/mmm1' symmetry and, in consequence, are
indistinguishable in conventional diffraction experiments. We demonstrate that
the three possible space groups are however, distinct in resonant X-ray Bragg
diffraction patterns created by Templeton & Templeton scattering. This provides
an experimental method of distinguishing between magnetic and orbital models
A detector for continuous measurement of ultra-cold atoms in real time
We present the first detector capable of recording high-bandwidth real time
atom number density measurements of a Bose Einstein condensate. Based on a
two-color Mach-Zehnder interferometer, our detector has a response time that is
six orders of magnitude faster than current detectors based on CCD cameras
while still operating at the shot-noise limit. With this minimally destructive
system it may be possible to implement feedback to stabilize a Bose-Einstein

About the initial mass function and HeII emission in young starbursts
We demonstrate that it is crucial to account for the evolution of the
starburst population in order to derive reliable numbers of O stars from
integrated spectra for burst ages t > 2 - 3 Myr. In these cases the method of
Vacca & Conti (1992) and Vacca (1994) systematically underestimates the number
of O stars. Therefore the current WR/O number ratios in Wolf-Rayet (WR)
galaxies are overestimated. This questions recent claims about flat IMF slopes
(alpha ~ 1-2) in these objects. If the evolution of the burst is properly
treated we find that the observations are indeed compatible with a Salpeter
IMF, in agreement with earlier studies.
Including recent predictions from non-LTE, line blanketed model atmospheres
which account for stellar winds, we synthesize the nebular and WR HeII 4686
emission in young starbursts. For metallicities 1/5 <= Z/Z_sun <= 1 we predict
a strong nebular HeII emission due to a significant fraction of WC stars in
early WR phases of the burst. For other metallicities broad WR emission will
always dominate the HeII emission. Our predictions of the nebular HeII
intensity agree well with the observations in WR galaxies and an important
fraction of the giant HII regions where nebular HeII is detected. We propose

FZZ Scattering
We study the duality between the two dimensional black hole and the
sine-Liouville conformal field theories via exact operator quantization of a
classical scattering problem. The ideas are first illustrated in Liouville
theory, which is dual to itself under the interchange of the Liouville
parameter b by 1/b. In both cases, a classical scattering problem does not
determine uniquely the quantum reflection coefficient. The latter is only fixed
by assuming that the dual scattering problem has the same reflection
coefficient. We also discuss the relation of this approach to the method that
exploits the parafermionic symmetry of the model to compute the reflection

We outline the basic notions of nodal hypersurface and domain averages for
antisymmetric wave functions. We illustrate their properties and analyze the
results for a few electron explicitly solvable cases and discuss possible
further developments
The Radius of Metric Subregularity
There is a basic paradigm, called here the radius of well-posedness, which
quantifies the "distance" from a given well-posed problem to the set of
ill-posed problems of the same kind. In variational analysis, well-posedness is
often understood as a regularity property, which is usually employed to measure
the effect of perturbations and approximations of a problem on its solutions.
In this paper we focus on evaluating the radius of the property of metric
subregularity which, in contrast to its siblings, metric regularity, strong
regularity and strong subregularity, exhibits a more complicated behavior under
various perturbations. We consider three kinds of perturbations: by Lipschitz
continuous functions, by semismooth functions, and by smooth functions,
obtaining different expressions/bounds for the radius of subregularity, which
involve generalized derivatives of set-valued mappings. We also obtain
different expressions when using either Frobenius or Euclidean norm to measure
the radius. As an application, we evaluate the radius of subregularity of a
general constraint system. Examples illustrate the theoretical findings.Comment: 20 page
Perceived Water Quality and Reported Health among Adults during the Flint, MI Water Crisis
Background and Purpose: In April 2014, the municipal water source for Flint, Michigan was changed from Lake Huron to the Flint River. Although residents reported concerns about the quality of tap water and resulting health problems, officials insisted that the water was safe. This study examined relationships between self-reported tap water quality during the water crisis and health conditions among Flint residents. Methods: Participants from each residential Census Tract in the City of Flint were recruited via address lists, online social media, and community-based events. The survey included mental and physical health items from the CDC’s Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System and an item on tap water quarter quality experiences. Analyses were weighted to be demographically representative. Results: Participants (N = 277) rated their tap water quality (taste, smell, appearance) as Poor (57%), Fair (20%), Good (13%), Very Good (6%), and Excellent (3%). Controlling for age, gender, years of education, whether respondents were African American or Hispanic/Latino/a, and population demographics, lower perceived tap water quality was associated with worse mental and physical health across all indicators. Conclusion: This study demonstrates associations of tap water quality experiences with reported poor physical and mental health among adults in Flint during the Flint Water Crisis
Health implications of an immigration raid: findings from a Latino community in the midwestern United States.
Immigration raids exemplify the reach of immigration law enforcement into the lives of Latino community members, yet little research characterizes the health effects of these raids. We examined the health implications of an immigration raid that resulted in multiple arrests and deportations and occurred midway through a community survey of a Latino population. We used linear regression following principal axis factoring to examine the influence of raid timing on immigration enforcement stress and self-rated health. We controlled for age, sex, relationship status, years in the county in which the raid occurred, children in the home, and nativity. 325 participants completed the survey before the raid and 151 after. Completing the survey after the raid was associated with higher levels of immigration enforcement stress and lower self-rated health scores.
