In der vorliegenden Publikation sind die fuer Sicherheit und Gesundheit am Arbeitsplatz wichtigsten Grenzwerte fuer chemische, biologische und physikalische Einwirkungen auf Personen zusammengestellt. Der Abschnitt ''Chemische Einwirkungen'' ist unterteilt in die zwei Kapitel ''Gefahrstoffgrenzwerte'' (MAK und TRK) und ''Gefahrstoffgrenzwerte und -richtwerte in Innenraeumen und in der Aussenluft''. Im Abschnitt ''Biologische Einwirkungen'' wird in Ermangelung an Grenzwerten fuer den Arbeitsplatz insbesondere auf die Grundzuege einer Arbeitsplatzbeurteilung eingegangen. Der Abschnitt ''Physikalische Einwirkungen'' beinhaltet zu folgenden Bereichen Grenzwerte und Erlaeuterungen: Laerm, Vibration, thermische Belastungen, Strahlung sowie biomechanische Belastungen (Heben und Tragen von Lasten). The section on chemical effects falls into two chapters: maximum working site concentrations of hazardous substances (MAK and TRK values), and limiting and recommended values for hazardous substances in indoor and external air. Regarding biological effects, limiting values for exposure at work do not exist. Therefore, this section looks mainly at the basic demands on work places. The section on physical effects contains limiting values and explanations regarding the following areas: noise, vibration, thermal stress, radiation and biomechanical stress (lifting and carrying of heavy weights). Grenzwerteliste 1996. Sicherheit und Gesundheitsschutz bei der Arbeit

The '1996 List of Limit Values' issued by the Professional Associations' Institute for Occupational Safety (BIA) contains the most important limit values for chemical, biological and physical agents which have an impact on health and safety in the workplace. The list contains a table of the limit values for hazardous substances (threshold limit of safe exposure [MAK], technical guidelines for exposure [TRK] and tolerance levels of exposure to biological agents [BAT]) from the following points in the technical code of practice on hazardous substances (TRGS): TRGS 900 'Limit values relating to air in the workplace', TRGS 903 ' Biological tolerance values' and also the classifications of TRGS 905 'Index of substances which can cause cancer, genetic changes or limit reproductive capability'. Also included are limit values for inner rooms, noise, vibration, thermal stress tolerance, radiation, electricity, bio-mechanical stress tolerance and notes on the effects of biological agents.
