Utjecaj želatine na kristalizacione i koagulacione procese kod taloženja
Mnogi radovi na problemima priprave i svojstava fotografskih emulzija ukazuju na to da želatina sprečava koagulaciju, ali da ne utiče na kristalizacioni rast. Na rekristalizaciju želatina također ne utiče jer kristalići srebrnog bromida u emulzijama mogu doseći i veličinu od nekoliko mikrona. Kolthoff i OBrein su proučavajući starenje srebrnog bromida došli do istog zaključka, da želatina ne sprečava rekristalizaciju
