    The procedure for measuring the thickness of anticorrosion protective layer of zinc on steel is given. The metallographic images are used for this measurement. Results are statistically handled and results are used to determine the uniformity of the thickness of the layer. The procedure was used to determine the quality of protective layers obtained form specimens produced by two different producers.Dat je prikaz postupka merenja debljine zaštitnog sloja cinka na čeliku korišćenjem programa za analizu slike. Na metalografskim snimcima preseka zaštitnog sloja cinka na čeliku merene su debljine zaštitnog sloja i potom su podaci statistički obrađeni. Rezultati statističke analize korišćeni su za upoređenje kvaliteta prevlake na dva uzorka dobijena od različitih proizvođača

    Carbon Nanofibers Grown on Large Woven Cloths: Morphology and Properties of Growth

    The morphology and chemical composition of carbon nanofibers in situ grown on a large carbon-fiber woven fabric are studied using SEM measurements, X-ray Diffraction, X-ray Flourescence, and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy. Results show that nanofibers can have a density and a morphology potentially advantageous for application in polymer-matrix composites. The fiber surface functional groups significantly change after the growth and this also potentially provides a better interfacial adhesion. These advantages can be controlled, e.g., by the catalyst loading and the type of solvent used for its deposition
