Momentum distributions of -particles from decaying low-lying C-resonances
The complex scaled hyperspherical adiabatic expansion method is used to
compute momentum and energy distributions of the three -particles
emerging from the decay of low-lying C-resonances. The large distance
continuum properties of the wave functions are crucial and must be accurately
calculated. We discuss separately decays of natural parity states: two ,
one , three , one , two , one , and one of each of
unnatural parity, , , , . The lowest natural parity state
of each decays predominantly sequentially via the Be ground
state whereas other states including unnatural parity states predominantly
decay directly to the continuum. We present Dalitz plots and systematic
detailed momentum correlations of the emerging -particles.Comment: 11 pages, 7 figures, accepted for publication in Physical Review
Possibility to study a two-proton halo in Ne
The nuclide Ne is studied theoretically in a three-body
O++ model. We demonstrate that the experimental condition for
existence of a proton halo in Ne can be reasonably quantified in terms
of configuration mixing. We discuss experimental evidences for a proton
halo in Ne. We define which kind of experimental data could elucidate
this issue.Comment: 5 pages, 5 figure
Charge density distributions and related form factors in neutron-rich light exotic nuclei
Charge form factors corresponding to proton density distributions in exotic
nuclei, such as He, Li, B and Be are calculated
and compared. The results can be used as tests of various theoretical models
for the exotic nuclei structure in possible future experiments using a
colliding electron-exotic nucleus storage ring. The result of such a comparison
would show the effect of the neutron halo or skin on the proton distributions
in exotic nuclei.Comment: 11 pages, 4 figures, to be published in International Journal of

Three-body decays: structure, decay mechanism and fragment properties
We discuss the three-body decay mechanisms of many-body resonances. R-matrix
sequential description is compared with full Faddeev computation. The role of
the angular momentum and boson symmetries is also studied. As an illustration
we show the computed -particle energy distribution after the decay of
12C(1^+) resonance at 12.7 MeV.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures. Proceedings of the workshop "Critical Stability

Sensitivities of the Proton-Nucleus Elastical Scattering Observables of 6He and 8He at Intermediate Energies
We investigate the use of proton-nucleus elastic scattering experiments using
secondary beams of 6He and 8He to determine the physical structure of these
nuclei. The sensitivity of these experiments to nuclear structure is examined
by using four different nuclear structure models with different spatial
features using a full-folding optical potential model. The results show that
elastic scattering at intermediate energies (<100 MeV per nucleon) is not a
good constraint to be used to determine features of structure. Therefore
researchers should look elsewhere to put constraints on the ground state wave
function of the 6He and 8He nuclei.Comment: To be published in Phys. Rev.
Inelastic scattering of protons from He and Li in a folding model approach
The proton-inelastic scattering from He and Li nuclei are
studied in a folding model approach. A finite-range, momentum, density and
isospin dependent nucleon-nucleon interaction (SBM) is folded with realistic
density distributions of the above nuclei. The renormalization factors N
and N on the real and volume imaginary part of the folded potentials are
obtained by analyzing the respective elastic scattering data and kept unaltered
for the inelastic analysis at the same energy. The form factors are generated
by taking derivatives of the folded potentials and therefore required
renormalizations. The values are extracted by fitting the p +
He,Li inelastic angular distributions. The present analysis of
p + He inelastic scattering to the 3.57 MeV excited state, including
unpublished forward angle data (RIKEN) confirms L = 2 transition. Similar
analysis of the p + He inelastic scattering angular distribution leading to
the 1.8 MeV (L = 2) excited state fails to satisfactorily reproduce the data.Comment: one LaTeX file, five PostScript figure
New insight into the low-energy He spectrum
The spectrum of He was studied by means of the He(,)He
reaction at a lab energy of 25 MeV/n and small center of mass (c.m.) angles.
Energy and angular correlations were obtained for the He decay products by
complete kinematical reconstruction. The data do not show narrow states at
1.3 and 2.4 MeV reported before for He. The lowest resonant
state of He is found at about 2 MeV with a width of 2 MeV and is
identified as . The observed angular correlation pattern is uniquely
explained by the interference of the resonance with a virtual state
(limit on the scattering length is obtained as fm), and with
the resonance at energy MeV.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures, 2 table
Neutron Rich Hypernuclei in Chiral Soliton Model
The binding energies of neutron rich strangeness hypernuclei are
estimated in the chiral soliton approach using the bound state rigid oscillator
version of the SU(3) quantization model. Additional binding of strange
hypernuclei in comparison with nonstrange neutron rich nuclei takes place at
not large values of atomic (baryon) numbers, . This effect
becomes stronger with increasing isospin of nuclides, and for "nuclear variant"
of the model with rescaled Skyrme constant . Total binding energies of
(Lambda)He-8 and recently discovered (Lambda)H-6 satisfactorily agree with
experimental data. Hypernuclei (Lambda)H-7, (Lambda)He-9 are predicted to be
bound stronger in comparison with their nonstrange analogues H-7, He-9;
hypernuclei (Lambda)Li-10, (Lambda)Li-11, (Lambda)Be-12, (Lambda)Be-13, etc.
are bound stronger in the nuclear variant of the model.Comment: 8 pages, 4 tables; amendments made, data on binding energy of

Alternative evaluations of halos in nuclei
Data for the scattering of 6He, 8He, 9Li, and 11Li from hydrogen are analyzed
within a fully microscopic folding model of proton-nucleus scattering. Current
data suggest that of these only 11Li has a noticeable halo. For 6He, we have
also analysed the complementary reaction 6Li(gamma,pi)6He(gs). The available
data for that reaction support the hypothesis that 6He may not be a halo
nucleus. However, those data are scarce and there is clearly a need for more to
elicit the microscopic structure of 6He.Comment: 18 pages, 8 figures (added 4 figures), added reference. Version
