A method of multichannel analysis of hadron collisions exemplified on the reaction K+p→K0π+pK^{+}p \to K^{0}\pi^{+}p at 5 GeV/c

A method for the separation of the various channels contributing to a multibody reaction is presented. Distribution functions are guessed for these channels and their possible interference effects. They are improved along the analysis by comparison to weighted distributions of events. As an example, the reaction K/sup +/p to K/sup 0/ pi /sup +/p at 5 GeV/c is treated with this method. (3 refs)

    A study of the reactions π−p→K∗X,K∗Σ\pi^{-}p\rightarrow K^{*}X, K^{*}\Sigma and K∗Y1∗K^{*}Y1^{*} (1385) at 3.93 GeV/c

The authors have investigated the final states K*/sup 0/(890) Lambda , K*/sup 0/(890) Sigma /sup 0/ and K*/sup 0/(890) Y/sub 1/*/sup 0/(1385) produced in pi /sup -/p interactions at 3.93 GeV/c. They present the differential cross sections and spin density matrix elements for the resonances as functions of momentum transfer, as well as the Lambda and Sigma /sup 0/ polarizations. The Sigma /sup 0/ polarization is found to be positive and maximal. An amplitude analysis is performed for the K* Lambda and K* Sigma /sup 0/ reactions, and it is found that one natural parity transversity amplitude is dominant for the latter. (15 refs)

    Study of the K*/sup o/ Lambda and K*/sup o/ Sigma /sup o/ final states from pi /sup -/p interactions at 3.9 GeV/c

A study of pi /sup -/p to K* Lambda and pi /sup -/p to K* Sigma /sup o / at 3.9 GeV/c indicates that the main features of both reactions can be interpreted in terms of simple exchange processes, the first involving both natural and unnatural exchange, the second showing evidence for natural parity exchange only.
