Relation Among Quality of Attachment, Paranoid Ideation and Somatization in College Students
AbstractThe aim of the current study was to investigate the relationship between quality of attachment with paranoid ideation and somatization in Tehran and Iran Medical Sciences Universities. To accomplish the stated goal 469 students from Tehran and Iran Medical Sciences Universities were selected by means of proportional sampling procedure. The Revised Adult Attachment Scale (Collins, 1996) and Scales of Paranoid Ideation and Somatization in Symptom Checklist90-Revised (Derogatis et al., 1973) were administered on them. Analysis of data using a multiple regression analysis revealed that the magnitude of paranoid ideation and somatization can be predicted from the quality of student's attachment. Moreover, data revealed that students who trusted on dependability of others were lower in Paranoid Ideation and somatization than students who had a anxious attachment. Authors concluded that a secure attachment (trust on dependability of others) was associated with lower paranoid ideation and somatization in college students who were studying in Medical Sciences Universities
Relations between image of God with Psychoticism in college students
AbstractThe aim of the current research was to investigate the relationship between image of God and Psychoticism in Tehran and Iranian Medical Sciences Universities. To accomplish the stated goal 455 students were selected by means of proportional sampling procedure. The Image of God inventory and subscale of Psychoticism in Symptom Checklist-90-Revised were administered on them. Analysis of data using a multiple regression analysis revealed that the magnitude of Psychoticism can be predicted from the quality of student's images of God
Relations between quality of image of God and mental health in parents of exceptional children
AbstractSince parents of exceptional children are exposed to the variety of child raising stressors that impact their psychological functioning, determining factors associated with psychological health of these individuals is an important research endeavour. The aim of the current research was to investigate the relationship between image of God and mental health in parents of exceptional children. To accomplish the stated goal 168 parents of exceptional children were selected by means of proportional sampling procedure. The Image of God Inventory (IOG, Lawrence, 1997) and Symptom Checklist90-R (SCL-90R, Deragotis et al., 1973) were administered on them. Analysis of data revealed that the magnitude of mental health can be predicted from the quality of images of God in parents of exceptional children. Moreover, data revealed that parents of exceptional children who had positive image of God were higher in mental health than parents of exceptional children who had a negative image of God. Authors concluded that positive image of God were associated with mental health in parents of exceptional children. Theoretical implication and practical application of the finding are discussed in the original paper
Relation between image of God with hostility and interpersonal sensitivity in college students
AbstractThe aim of the current research was to investigate the relationship between image of God with hostility and interpersonal sensitivity in Tehran and Iranian Medical Sciences Universities. To accomplish the stated goal 467 students were selected by means of proportional sampling procedure. The Image of God inventory and scales of hostility and interpersonal sensitivity in Symptom Checklist-90-Revised were administered on them. Analysis of data revealed that the magnitude of hostility and interpersonal sensitivity can be predicted from the quality of student's images of God
Relation between quality of attachment and life satisfaction in high school administrators
AbstractThis study examined the relationship between attachment styles and life satisfaction in high school administrators. In this study 88 high school administrators (43 men and 45 women) at the City of Tabriz in Iran were voluntarily selected. They completed the measures of Revised Adult Attachment Scale (Collins, 1996), and The Satisfaction with life Scale (Diener et al., 1985). Analysis of data with utilization of multiple regression analyses revealed that life satisfaction of high school administrators can be predicted from the magnitude of their quality of attachment. Moreover, data revealed that high school administrators with anxious attachment were lower in life satisfaction than individuals with a secure attachment style. Individuals who could depend attachment (dependability of others) on their couples and find them available were higher in life satisfaction. Author concluded that secure attachment style was associated with higher life satisfaction in high school administrators
Relation between Quality of Image of God with Anxiety and Depression in College Students
AbstractSince college students are exposed to the variety of stressors that impact their psychological functioning, determining factors associated with psychological health of these individuals is an important research endeavour. The aim of the current research was to investigate the relationship between image of God with anxiety and depression in college students. To accomplish the stated goal 227 college students were selected by means of proportional sampling procedure. The Image of God Inventory (IOG, Lawrence, 1997) and Scales of Anxiety and Depression in Symptom Checklist90-R (SCL-90R, Deragotis et al., 1973) were administered on them. Analysis of data revealed that the magnitude of anxiety and depression can be predicted from the quality of images of God in college students. Moreover, data revealed that college students who had positive image of God were lower in anxiety and depression than college students who had a negative image of God. Authors concluded that positive image of God were associated with lower anxiety and depression in college students. Theoretical implication and practical application of the finding are discussed in the original paper
