The dress is inspired by the Neuschwanstein Castle, which is located near forests and a crystalclear lake and was itself inspired by fairy tales. The castle embodies nineteenth century romanticism and is an excellent imitation of a medieval castle. I visited the castle several years ago, and I could not forget its beauty, which I decided to bring into a dress. Development of Wearable Tracking Systems: Preferences in Tracking Dimensions
Among various sustainable clothing design strategies, transformable design can encourage people to adopt sustainable fashion behaviors; a versatile garment can be worn in many ways. However, there is a lack of research on prom dresses, which have one of the shortest lifecycles among clothing items since they are usually only worn once. This research investigated consumers\u27 expectations and preferences regarding the changeable design functions of transformable prom dresses related to their shopping orientations. Data were collected from U.S. female college students using an online survey tool. There were significant differences in the reasons given by consumers for the limited use of prom dresses, their design and functional elements, their preferences in the design elements of transformable dresses, and their intention to purchase transformable dresses. The findings can benefit apparel designers and fashion businesses when developing design strategies that can help encourage sustainable fashion behaviors in consumers and enhance their sustainable apparel consumption practices

An Analysis of Visibility Aids for Biomotion Through 3D Eye-tracking Systems
Biological motion, or biomotion, is the perceptual phenomenon in which highlighting the major joints of the body renders recognition of the human form almost immediately. By taking advantage of biomotion, clothing materials and garments can increase visibility of bicyclists. The purpose of this research is to compare the effectiveness of biomotion visibility aids for nighttime bicyclists via 3D eye-tracking technology. Four visibility aid conditions were tested via a between-subjects experiment: biomotion (retro-reflective knee and ankle bands), non-biomotion (retro-reflective vest), pseudo-biomotion (vertical retro-reflective stripes on the back of the legs), and control (all-black clothing). A one-way ANOVA and post-hoc analysis were conducted. Both biomotion and pseudo-biomotion conditions were found to be significantly more visible than non-biomotion and control conditions. These results have the potential to benefit clothing designers, drivers, and bicyclists alike

Visibility-Enhanced Bicycling Clothes with Flashing LEDs Applied for Biological Motion
Bicyclists number approximately 39 to 40 million around the world; the U.S. bicyclist population grew by 27 million in 2011 (Formosa, 2012). In 2010, roughly 52,000 bicyclists were injured, and 618 were killed in traffic accidents, which accounted for 2% of all traffic fatalities; the cause was mostly low conspicuity. Eight billion dollars are spent annually in the US to care for bicycle crash victims (NHTSA, 2012). Therefore, researchers have suggested that bicyclists wear visibility aids during at night (Kwan & Mapstone, 2004; Wood et al., 2011). Many studies have suggested using LEDs, but there is a lack of understanding about the appropriate positions for wearing these lights. Previous research (Koo & Dunne, 2011; Koo & Smith, 2010) found effectiveness for using LEDs on joints at nighttime. However, there is no research comparing the effectiveness on differing joints. Thus, the purpose of this study was to develop visibility-enhanced bicycling clothing with flashing LEDs on different configurations, focusing on body joints and evaluating the effects of this clothing design on bicyclists’ visibility. This research will provide ideas for apparel designers to develop visibility-aiding bicycling clothing as well as assistance to bicyclists in placing flashing LEDs on the most effective areas of their bodies
Consumers’ Clothing Benefits and Expectations on Smartphone Fashion Apps
More than 90 million people used smartphones in the United States in 2012 (Alexander 2012). It is estimated that the smartphone application market will experience growth of more than 1,000% between 2010 and 2014 (Petty & Goasduff, 2011). Fashion brands and companies have created smartphone apps as a new communication tool to create a strong connection with consumers and ultimately lead to continuous purchases without site and time limitations (Kim 2010). Since this field has become competitive, fashion brands need to understand consumers\u27 expectations and design more attractive apps to lead consumers to purchase them (Maceli, 2011). This study investigates what kinds of specific expectations consumer have about functions of smartphone fashion apps and how they differ from their benefit segmentations. This study will give ideas to app developers and fashion brands and/or companies when they are launching and managing fashion brand apps

The tourism industry represents almost 10% of global GDP and is one of only a handful of sectors that continue to grow (World Travel Trends Reports, 2013). However, tourists have always been easy targets for thieves (Holcomb & Pizam, 2006). The importance of the tourism industry suggests that prevention of bag theft is worth considerations and exploration. The problem of bag theft is usually under-reported and this is rarely mentioned by major media (Smith, Bowers, & Johnson, 2006)

This dress was created to increase awareness of the global air pollution issue and to emphasize our cooperative efforts to better the air quality. The abandoned air filters were recycled and rebirthed to create an elegant, romantic, and energetic dress. Just like combining people’s hopes and efforts one by one, the small pieces were connected to create a hopeful, blooming dress. The interesting textures of the air filters encompasses the airy, lightweight dress, and delivers the hopeful message. The dress was made through sustainable construction methods such as zero wastes. This design explored a new material, air filters, recreated into interesting textures. A special construction method was utilized to make the dress using the new material
