The Design of the Telemetric System for Recording Operating Parameters of Electric Vehicles

    Get PDF
The article presents the prototype of the original telemetric system developed as a part of Warsaw University of Technology Rector's Grant by Science Club of Electrical Engineering in Transport Systems (KNEST) together with the Faculty of Transport. The system was designed for remote monitoring and recording of electric vehicle’s operating parameters. Under the project electric go-kart was a technology demonstrator for which velocity, current, voltage, temperature and GPS coordinates were recorded. Data are transferred in real-time, what allows to monitor all parameters of the electric vehicle on-line. The article describes functional requirements for the developed system and the elements used, including sensors of signals. The authors present steps of transfer of data acquired from the vehicle until their visualization at the remote computer through the developed application. The advantages of the system are long range wireless connectivity, low price and wide upgrade possibilities. The tests performed have shown the correct functioning of the system and its compliance with the assumptions

LCC Resonant Power Electronic Converter for Photovoltaic System with Battery Energy Storage

AbstractPower electronic converters are an integral elementof power generation systems based on renewable energy sourceswhich is photovoltaic array. Converters enable the control andcorrection measures of current and voltage characteristics on theoutput of the power plant, as well as proper operation of energystorage device. Moreover, such converters facilitate and controlpower load of the power electronic system. Particular interestshould be paid to the parameters of the converter responsible forthe operation of the energy storage device. It should becharacterized by: easiness of control, low costs and especiallyhigh efficiency. The authors suggestion for this application is toimplement a resonant LCC converter in a three-phase convertersystem. Research of the device has been conducted in a onedimensionalenergy flow version. Tests for resonant system andhard switching have also been done. Conducted tests provideevidence of the converters high efficiency at the voltage level ofthe rated voltage. The results prove that the mentioned converteris appropriate for application in cooperation with a batteryenergy storage device. What is more, the dynamic and staticcharacteristics of the investigated converter are also satisfactory.Still, in order to facilitate the formation of new convertersprototypes, the authors designed a universal bridge system with adriver. Suggested model enables formation of devices with thepower range from hundreds of watts to several dozens ofkilowatts4 Halama
