Insight: Anticipating the Future, Assessing the Impact (semester?), IPRO 341: Insight IPRO 341 IPRO Day Presentation F05

The first objective of IPRO 341 is to develop a hypothetical model of the life cycle of emerging technologies through historical analysis. The team has chosen four technologies the study of which we believe will allow us to construct a working model of the life cycle of an emerging technology. The second objective of IPRO 341 is to begin an in-depth look into emerging technologies and assess its political, social, and economic impacts. By applying our hypothetical model to the current trends of emerging technologies, we will predict the impacts that the introduction of emerging technologies will have on society as a whole. The third objective of IPRO 341 is to reassess our model after completing other research dealing with emerging technologies. Since the model we develop can only be a theoretical model, we will have to continuously revise our model depending on any new information that comes about during the development of emerging technologies. The fourth objective of IPRO 341 is to provide an overview as to the importance of researching emerging technologies; how they affect society and the importance to all stakeholders involved.Deliverables for IPRO 341: Insight: Anticipating the Future, Assessing the Impact for the Fall 2005 semester

Hybrid Electric Vehicles: Simulation, Design, and Implementation (semester?), IPRO 326: Hybrid Electric Vehicles IPRO 326 Project Plan Sp05

    No full text
The IPRO 326 Project aims at systematically testing both parallel and series vehicle configurations of the Hummer and HMMWV (High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle) to find the optimum hybridization factor specific to each configuration. An additional objective of the team is to work in coordination with Ph.D. students to simulate a hybrid electric bus system that is scheduled to have practical implementations by the end of the year. All vehicle simulations and structured testing will be performed using ADVISOR, as well as other software packages available in the Power Electronics and Motor Drives Laboratory at IIT. Related work done by previous student teams shall be reviewed and integrated into this project.Deliverables for IPRO 326: Hybrid Electric Vehicles: Simulation, Design, and Implementation for the Spring 2005 semeste
