A Three-Dimensional Matrix Model for Determining the Optimal Strategic Choice for a Company
This research develops a three-dimensional matrix model based on the principle behind the GE/McKinsey matrix and the hodograph method, providing a functionality to select a time series of the optimal strategies, which maximize the long-term competitive advantage and performance of a larger company in the rapidly changing business environment. The selection of such strategies is based on the comparative analysis of alternative trajectories of a companyâs strategic position in the model space, which is formed by three coordinate axes: the âlevel of a companyâs competitive advantageâ (x), âfavorability of the business environmentâ(y), and âtimeâ(t)
Managing the risk of emergency situations caused by staff at thermal power plants
Optimization of power plant operation in start and stop modes is an important task aimed at increasing the reliability and efficiency of its operation. The purpose of development of the new organizational mechanism is reduction of losses connected with incorrect actions of personnel during launching and shutdown operations of Steam-Gas furnaces of thermal power stations. The work is done on the example of one of the power plants of a large generating company. Implementation has confirmed the high efficiency of innovation. Total cost of project implementation at one station is estimated at the rate of 1.4 million rubles and the economic effect of the pilot project implementation in two years was estimated at 5.6 million rubles. It is also noted that further research is required to perform economic calculations for clarification as to which one of the new methodological approaches should be developed in the future. Conclusion was made that, first, regulation and control of personnel actions at the workplace is actually the first example of the distribution of the well-known Kaizen system and its modifications to a new specific area â energy generation. Second, the presented development can be a technological platform for further increase of the level of automation of operation of steam-gas and steam-power plants in non-stationary modes, up to full digitalization of control operation of thermal power plants
Methodology for express assessment of human resource potential in the regional system of secondary general education
This article presents a methodology for the quick assessment of human resources potential within the regional system of secondary general education. Its relevance is dictated by the extreme importance of human resources for improving the quality of education in the region, the need for well-founded managerial decisions to enhance the effectiveness of teaching, and the demand by regional education management bodies for tools to evaluate and develop human resources. The tasks, solved with the help of the proposed methodology, include identification (using statistical and econometric methods) significant general, professional, and motivational characteristics of teachers that affect the results of their studentsâ Unified State Exams (USE); determining profiles of successful and unsuccessful teachers and their location in regional schools; projecting the expected USE results for a new teacherâs class based on their characteristics; setting targeted goals for the development of human resource potential in the region, and targeted interventions in the problematic areas of the regional education system. Thus, this methodology holds high practical significance for the improvement of the regional general secondary education system
Environmental engineering studentsâ motivation through foreign language learning in the context of digital teaching realization (on the example of Moodle virtual environment)
The article analyzes the ways digital teaching implementation during the process of foreign language learning by future environmental engineers. The relevance of the work is the need of society for highly qualified specialists with foreign language communication skills. The theoretical significance of the study is in the fact that ways of digital teaching implementation are considered. The practical significance of given paper is in the development of electronic educational and methodological complexes for various levels on the Moodle platform education during the process of foreign language learning, which allow to stimulate the desire for studentsâ motivation to success, effectively organize independent activities and enhance studentsâ cognitive activity. âMotivation of success and fear of failure (questionnaire of A. A. Rean)â was applied in the empirical study. The results showed that learning in virtual reality leads to increased motivation and involvement of students in the learning process. It is concluded that the competent organization of independent work in a virtual educational environment and the use of modern tools improve the quality of future environmental engineersâ professional training
Professional becoming: Future environmental engineersâ social representations
The objective of the paper is to answer the question how students-future environmental engineers define their practice through the analysis of their social representations of acmeology and its influence on professional becoming. Two methods of research were used by us: theoretical analysis and diagnostic tests. It is stated that social representation is an âenvironmentâ in relation to the person/group. The professional becoming and acmeology representation constitutes a concept simultaneously hybrid and frame in an area of studies, the social psychology that has been constructed from the interdisciplinary nature. Social representation gives a possibility to comprehend professional mobility understanding. The concept of the social representations was characterized, the understanding of which by future environmental engineers was analyzed in given article. The social representation issue of professional becoming and acmeology designates a particular knowledge form. We have analyzed the understanding of social representation of professional becoming by students. Two methods of research were used by us: theoretical analysis and diagnostic tests. Students of 1-4 courses of the training direction âTechnosphere safetyâ took part in the surveys. In conclusion it is stated that social representation professional becoming and acmeology could provide an increasing of future environmental engineersâ professional interests, as well using personality resources for success achievements within professional activity

The Use of Machine Learning for Comparative Analysis of Amperometric and Chemiluminescent Methods for Determining Antioxidant Activity and Determining the Phenolic Profile of Wines
This paper presents an analysis of modern methods used to determine antioxidant activity. According to research by the World Health Organization, the deficiency of such important nutrients as antioxidants leads to a decrease in body resistance and the development of chronic diseases. When it comes to diet, the inclusion of foods with a high content of antioxidants helps to increase life expectancy. As a result of this research, the mass concentration of phenolic substances and the antioxidant activity of phenolic antioxidants in young white and red table wine materials were determined using amperometric and chemiluminescent methods in order to determine antioxidant activity. Regression equations reflecting the relationship between the indicator of antioxidant activity and the value of the mass concentration of phenolic substances in young table wine materials were derived. The conversion coefficient for determining the mass concentration of phenolic substances when using Trolox-C and gallic acid as standards was established, which wasâ3.75. Based on a multiple linear regression model, the total antioxidant activity of the samples (F9.5 = 19.10 and p = 0.0023) can be fairly accurately predicted with an R2 of 0.921 for the calibration data set. A neural network regression model (NNRM) was chosen for the machine-learning regression analysis of the antioxidant activity of the wine samples due to its effectiveness in predicting outcomes in various applications. The implementation was performed using the fitrnet function provided in the Statistics and Machine Learning Toolbox in MATLAB R2021b. The MSE of the calibration model was 0.056; however, the MSE for the three validation samples was much higher, at 0.272
