Participants Experiences within Organizations Aimed at Reducing Food Insecurity in Indianapolis

    No full text
Statistics from the USDA indicate that food insecurity in Indiana has risen in the recent years. This rise is in tandem with the growth of food deserts in the Indianapolis region. Our research seeks to explore how people involved in organizations aimed at reducing food insecurity in the Indianapolis metropolitan area perceive the effectiveness of efforts to reduce food deserts. By analyzing qualitative data gathered via in-depth interviews, we are attempting to identify potential discrepancies in perception, in hopes that doing so might aid these types of organizations in closing the gap between what is expected/needed from them so that they may better serve their communities
