Density of States and NMR Relaxation Rate in Anisotropic Superconductivity with Intersecting Line Nodes
We show that the density of states in an anisotropic superconductor with
intersecting line nodes in the gap function is proportional to for , where is the maximum value of
the gap function and is constant, while it is proportional to if
the line nodes do not intersect. As a result, a logarithmic correction appears
in the temperature dependence of the NMR relaxation rate and the specific heat,
which can be observed experimentally. By comparing with those for the heavy
fermion superconductors, we can obtain information about the symmetry of the
gap function.Comment: 7 pages, 4 PostScript Figures, LaTeX, to appear in J. Phys. Soc. Jp
Orbital degeneracy as a source of frustration in LiNiO
Motivated by the absence of cooperative Jahn-Teller effect and of magnetic
ordering in LiNiO, a layered oxide with triangular planes, we study a
general spin-orbital model on the triangular lattice. A mean-field approach
reveals the presence of several singlet phases between the SU(4) symmetric
point and a ferromagnetic phase, a conclusion supported by exact
diagonalizations of finite clusters. We argue that one of the phases,
characterized by a large number of low-lying singlets associated to dimer
coverings of the triangular lattice, could explain the properties of LiNiO,
while a ferro-orbital phase that lies nearby in parameter space leads to a new
prediction for the magnetic properties of NaNiO.Comment: 18 pages, 17 figure
Realization of odd-frequency p-wave spin-singlet superconductivity coexisting with antiferromagnetic order near quantum critical point
A possibility of the realization of the p-wave spin-singlet superconductivity
(SS), whose gap function is odd both in momentum and in frequency, is
investigated by solving the gap equation with the phenomenological interaction
mediated by the antiferromagnetic spin fluctuation. The SS is realized
prevailing over the d-wave singlet superconductivity (SS) in the vicinity of
antiferromagnetic quantum critical pint (QCP) both on the paramagnetic and on
the antiferromagnetic sides. Off the QCP in the paramagnetic phase, however,
the SS with line-nodes is realized as \textit{conventional} anisotropic
superconductivity. For the present SS state, there is no gap in the
quasiparticle spectrum everywhere on the Fermi surface due to its odd
frequency. These features can give a qualitative understanding of the anomalous
behaviors of NQR relaxation rate on CeCuSi or CeRhIn where the
antiferromagnetism and superconductivity coexist on a microscopic level.Comment: 20 pages with 12 figures. To appear in J. Phys. Soc. Jpn. Vol. 72,

Instability of Magnons in Two-dimensional Antiferromagnet at High Magnetic Fields
Spin dynamics of the square lattice Heisenberg antiferromagnet, \BaMnGeO, is
studied by a combination of bulk measurements, neutron diffraction, and
inelastic neutron scattering techniques. Easy plane type antiferromagnetic
order is identified at K. The exchange interactions are estimated
as = 27.8(3)eV and = 1.0(1) eV, and the saturation
field is 9.75 T. Magnetic excitation measurements with high
experimental resolution setup by triple axis neutron spectrometer reveals the
instability of one magnon excitation in the field range of .Comment: 5 pgase, 5 figuers, to be published in PRB R
Uniform Mixing of High-Tc Superconductivity and Antiferromagnetism on a Single CuO2 Plane in Hg-based Five-layered Cuprate
We report a site selective Cu-NMR study on under-doped Hg-based five-layered
high- cuprate HgBa2Ca4Cu5Oy with a Tc=72 K. Antiferromagnetism (AF)
has been found to take place at TN=290 K, exhibiting a large antiferromagnetic
moment of 0.67-0.69uB at three inner planes (IP's). This value is comparable to
the values reported for non-doped cuprates, suggesting that the IP may be in a
nearly non-doped regime. Most surprisingly, the AF order is also detected with
M(OP)=0.1uB even at two outer planes (OP's) that are responsible for the onset
of superconductivity (SC). The high-Tc SC at Tc = 72 K can uniformly coexist on
a microscopic level with the AF at OP's. This is the first microscopic evidence
for the uniform mixed phase of AF and SC on a single CuO2 plane in a simple
environment without any vortex lattice and/or stripe order.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures. To be published in Phys.Rev.Let
Gapless Magnetic and Quasiparticle Excitations due to the Coexistence of Antiferromagnetism and Superconductivity in CeRhIn : A study of In-NQR under Pressure
We report systematic measurements of ac-susceptibility,
nuclear-quadrupole-resonance spectrum, and nuclear-spin-lattice-relaxation time
() on the pressure ()- induced heavy-fermion (HF) superconductor
CeRhIn. The temperature () dependence of at = 1.6 GPa has
revealed that antiferromagnetism (AFM) and superconductivity (SC) coexist
microscopically, exhibiting the respective transition at K and
= 0.9 K. It is demonstrated that SC does not yield any trace of gap
opening in low-lying excitations below K, but K, followed by a = const law. These results point to the
unconventional characteristics of SC coexisting with AFM. We highlight that
both of the results deserve theoretical work on the gapless nature in low-lying
excitation spectrum due to the coexistence of AFM and SC and the lack of the
mean-field regime below K.Comment: 4pages,5figures,revised versio
Pressure-induced anomalous magnetism and unconventional superconductivity in CeRhIn5 : 115In-NQR Study under Pressure
We report In nuclear-quadrupole-resonance (NQR) measurements of the
pressure()-induced superconductor CeRhIn in the antiferromagnetic (AF)
and superconducting (SC) states. In the AF region, the internal field
at the In site is substantially reduced from kOe at P=0 to 0.39
kOe at GPa, while the N\'eel temperature slightly changes with
increasing . This suggests that either the size in the ordered moment
or the angle between the direction of and
the tetragonal axis is extrapolated to zero at GPa at
which a bulk SC transition is no longer emergent. In the SC state at
GPa, the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate has revealed a
dependence without the coherence peak just below , giving evidence
for the unconventional superconductivity. The dimensionality of the magnetic
flutuations in the normal state are also discussed.Comment: 8pages,4figures,submitted to Phys. Rev. B. Rapid
