    Design of software-oriented technician for vehicle’s fault system prediction using AdaBoost and random forest classifiers

    Detecting and isolating faults on heavy duty vehicles is very important because it helps maintain high vehicle performance, low emissions, fuel economy, high vehicle safety and ensures repair and service efficiency. These factors are important because they help reduce the overall life cycle cost of a vehicle. The aim of this paper is to deliver a Web application model which aids the professional technician or vehicle user with basic automobile knowledge to access the working condition of the vehicles and detect the fault subsystem in the vehicles. The scope of this system is to visualize the data acquired from vehicle, diagnosis the fault component using trained fault model obtained from improvised Machine Learning (ML) classifiers and generate a report. The visualization page is built with plotly python package and prepared with selected parameter from On-board Diagnosis (OBD) tool data. The Histogram data is pre-processed with techniques such as null value Imputation techniques, Standardization and Balancing methods in order to increase the quality of training and it is trained with Classifiers. Finally, Classifier is tested and the Performance Metrics such as Accuracy, Precision, Re-call and F1 measure which are calculated from the Confusion Matrix. The proposed methodology for fault model prediction uses supervised algorithms such as Random Forest (RF), Ensemble Algorithm like AdaBoost Algorithm which offer reasonable Accuracy and Recall. The Python package joblib is used to save the model weights and reduce the computational time. Google Colabs is used as the python environment as it offers versatile features and PyCharm is utilised for the development of Web application. Hence, the Web application, outcome of this proposed work can, not only serve as the perfect companion to minimize the cost of time and money involved in unnecessary checks done for fault system detection but also aids to quickly detect and isolate the faulty system to avoid the propagation of errors that can lead to more dangerous cases

    The traditional health care system is quite prevalent in the rural areas of Kanyakumari district. The present study deals with enumeration of 25 plant species from 25 families, used as traditional medicine by local indigenous community of the area. The different parts of the plants are used to cure several kinds of illnesses. The leaf is predominantly used, and is followed by roots, tubers, and rhizomes. The indigenous community prefers these plants as home remedy against fever, leucorrhoea, rheumatism, headache, indigestion, etc

    Chylous ascites following total laparoscopic hysterectomy done for benign pathology: a rare complication

    Chylous ascites is an uncommon form of ascites, defined as the leakage of the lipid-rich lymph into the peritoneal cavity It is a common complication seen following surgeries done for gynecological malignancies. Chyle leak following benign surgery is an extremely rare entity. The presence of a milky appearing ascitic fluid with triglyceride content above 200 mg/dl is diagnostic of chylous ascites. High-protein and low-fat diet with MCT reduce the production and flow of chyle and seal the leak. We present a 53-year-old, para 2 living 2, lady with heavy menstrual bleeding and congestive dysmenorrhea for 3 years. She was diagnosed with AUB A and failed to respond to medical management. Her general physical examination was unremarkable and gynaecological examination revealed bulky uterus enlarged to 12 weeks’ gravid uterine size. She underwent TLH and BSO. On post-operative day 2, 280 ml milky white fluid was noted in the pelvic drain. Drain fluid triglyceride was noted to be 723 mg/dl. High protein and low fat diet with MCT was initiated. Over the following 3 days the drain output showed a gradual decline and on day 6 serous fluid was noted in the drain. She recovered well and was discharged on 8th post-operative day. Chylous ascites following hysterectomy has not been reported in literature. We report this case to emphasize the rarity of this complication following laparoscopic hysterectomy for benign pathology and the successful management by conservative measures

    De novo assembly of a genome-wide transcriptome map of Vicia faba (L.) for transfer cell research

    Vicia faba (L.) is an important cool-season grain legume species used widely in agriculture but also in plant physiology research, particularly as an experimental model to study transfer cell (TC) development. TCs are specialized nutrient transport cells in plants, characterized by invaginated wall ingrowths with amplified plasma membrane surface area enriched with transporter proteins that facilitate nutrient transfer. Many TCs are formed by trans-differentiation from differentiated cells at apoplasmic/symplasmic boundaries in nutrient transport. Adaxial epidermal cells of isolated cotyledons can be induced to form functional TCs, thus providing a valuable experimental system to investigate genetic regulation of TC trans-differentiation. The genome of V. faba is exceedingly large (ca. 13 Gb), however, and limited genomic information is available for this species. To provide a resource for future transcript profiling of epidermal TC differentiation, we have undertaken de novo assembly of a genome-wide transcriptome map for V. faba. Illumina paired-end sequencing of total RNA pooled from different tissues and different stages, including isolated cotyledons induced to form epidermal TCs, generated 69.5 M reads, of which 65.8 M were used for assembly following trimming and quality control. Assembly using a De-Bruijn graph-based approach generated 21,297 contigs, of which 80.6% were successfully annotated against GO terms. The assembly was validated against known V. faba cDNAs held in GenBank, including transcripts previously identified as being specifically expressed in epidermal cells across TC trans-differentiation. This genome-wide transcriptome map therefore provides a valuable tool for future transcript profiling of epidermal TC trans-differentiation, and also enriches the genetic resources available for this important legume crop species

    Identification of candidate transcriptional regulators of epidermal transfer cell development in Vicia faba cotyledons

    Transfer cells (TCs) are anatomically-specialized cells formed at apoplasmic-symplasmic bottlenecks in nutrient transport pathways in plants. TCs form invaginated wall ingrowths which provide a scaffold to amplify plasma membrane surface area and thus increase the density of nutrient transporters required to achieve enhanced nutrient flow across these bottlenecks. Despite their importance to nutrient transport in plants, little is known of the transcriptional regulation of wall ingrowth formation. Here, we used RNA-Seq to identify transcription factors putatively involved in regulating epidermal TC development in cotyledons of Vicia faba. Comparing cotyledons cultured for 0, 3, 9, and 24 h to induce trans-differentiation of epidermal TCs identified 43 transcription factors that showed either epidermal-specific or epidermal–enhanced expression, and 10 that showed epidermal-specific down regulation. Members of the WRKY and ethylene-responsive families were prominent in the cohort of transcription factors showing epidermal-specific or epidermal–enhanced expression, consistent with the initiation of TC development often representing a response to stress. Members of the MYB family were also prominent in these categories, including orthologs of MYB genes involved in localized secondary wall deposition in Arabidopsis thaliana. Among the group of transcription factors showing down regulation were various homeobox genes and members of the MADs-box and zinc-finger families of poorly defined functions. Collectively, this study identified several transcription factors showing expression characteristics and orthologous functions that indicate likely participation in transcriptional regulation of epidermal TC development in V. faba cotyledons

    Occurrence, prevalence and molecular characterization of Norileca indica (Milne Edwards, 1840) (Isopoda: Cymothoidae) on bigeyescad Selar crumenophthalmus (Bloch) from Andaman Islands India

    452-456The present investigation reports the occurrence and prevalence of the parasitic cymothoid, Norileca indica infesting bigeyescad, Selar crumenophthalmus from the Andaman Islands. Damage in the form of erosion of gill filament and necrosis in the gill chamber of the host fish, with a prevalence of 26.08% and a mean intensity of 1.5 is recorded. Molecular characterization of the mitochondrial COI and 28S rDNA genes is done to establish its phylogenetic status with its known congener. The present report is the first record of N. indica infesting S. crumenophthalmus from the Andaman Islands
