H0Z0γH^0 \rightarrow Z^0 \gamma channel in ATLAS. \\ A study of the Standard Model and \\ Minimal Supersymmetric SM case

    No full text
One of the potentially accessible decay modes of the Higgs boson in the mass region 100<mH<180100 < m_H < 180 GeV is the H0Z0γH^0 \rightarrow Z^0 \gamma channel. The work presented in this note examines the Standard Model and Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model predictions for the observability of this channel using particle level simulation as well as the ATLAS fast simulation (ATLFAST). It compares present estimates for the signal observability with previously reported ones in \cite{unal} specifying the changes arising from the assumed energy of the colliding protons and the improvements in the treatment of theoretical predictions. With the present estimates, the expected significance for the SM Higgs does not exceed, in terms of SB\frac{S}{\sqrt{B}}, 1.5 σ\sigma (including Z0e+eZ^0 \rightarrow e^+ e^- and Z0μ+μZ^0 \rightarrow {\mu}^+ {\mu}^-) for an integrated luminosity of 10510^5 pb1^{-1} therefore not favouring this channel for SM Higgs searches. Comparable discovery potential is expected at most for the MSSM h0(H0)Z0γh^0 (H^0) \rightarrow Z^0 \gamma channel

Centralized Data Engineering for the Monitoring of the CERN Electrical Network

The monitoring and control of the CERN electrical network consists of a great variety of devices and software: it spans from low level acquisition devices to high level data concentrators, supervision systems as well as power network simulation tools

ELSEVIER Sec11on A First experimental results from a microdot gas avalanche detector integrated onto a silicon wafer

Abstract First results on the voltage dependence of the gas gain of a microdot detector are presented. No variation of the gas gain with rate is observed up to a measured maximum rate of 4 x lo3 X-rays/mm*/s. Some possible applications of this detector are discussed
