An Implementation of Web-based Machining Operation Planning

    Get PDF
AbstractThis paper introduces a machining operation planning system for practical use in small and medium sized manufacturers. The system passes through two stages: manual input of required information and semi-automated generation of an operation plan. At the first stage, removal volumes out of a workpiece and their reference details on the part drawing are translated into the specific machining features manually. The operations to be performed for each feature are then selected from the operation list related to the feature. At the second stage, the cutting tool for each operation is determined with its proper cutting conditions by using a rule-based algorithm and retrieving a machining database gradually updated. The web interface makes it possible for the manufacturers to keep a record of their machining practice in the database and obtain the favorable data from the various sources when needed. An example is shown to demonstrate the usefulness of the system

PAS: Partial Additive Speech Data Augmentation Method for Noise Robust Speaker Verification

Background noise reduces speech intelligibility and quality, making speaker verification (SV) in noisy environments a challenging task. To improve the noise robustness of SV systems, additive noise data augmentation method has been commonly used. In this paper, we propose a new additive noise method, partial additive speech (PAS), which aims to train SV systems to be less affected by noisy environments. The experimental results demonstrate that PAS outperforms traditional additive noise in terms of equal error rates (EER), with relative improvements of 4.64% and 5.01% observed in SE-ResNet34 and ECAPA-TDNN. We also show the effectiveness of proposed method by analyzing attention modules and visualizing speaker embeddings.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures, 1 table, accepted to CKAIA2023 as a conference pape

Secure Encapsulation Schemes Using Key Recovery System in IoMT Environments

    No full text
Recently, as Internet of Things systems have been introduced to facilitate diagnosis and treatment in healthcare and medical environments, there are many issues concerning threats to these systems’ security. For instance, if a key used for encryption is lost or corrupted, then ciphertexts produced with this key cannot be decrypted any more. Hence, this paper presents two schemes for key recovery systems that can recover the lost or the corrupted keys of an Internet of Medical Things. In our proposal, when the key used for the ciphertext is needed, this key is obtained from a Key Recovery Field present in the cyphertext. Thus, the recovered key will allow decrypting the ciphertext. However, there are threats to this proposal, including the case of the Key Recovery Field being forged or altered by a malicious user and the possibility of collusion among participating entities (Medical Institution, Key Recovery Auditor, and Key Recovery Center) which can interpret the Key Recovery Field and abuse their authority to gain access to the data. To prevent these threats, two schemes are proposed. The first one enhances the security of a multi-agent key recovery system by providing the Key Recovery Field with efficient integrity and non-repudiation functions, and the second one provides a proxy re-encryption function resistant to collusion attacks against the key recovery system

Electrodeposition of the MnO2 on the Ag/Au Core–Shell Nanowire and Its Application to the Flexible Supercapacitor

Supercapacitors have received considerable attention as energy storage devices owing to their high power density, fast charge/discharge rate, and long cyclic life. Especially with an increasing demand for flexible and wearable devices, research on flexible supercapacitors has surged in recent years. The silver nanowire (Ag NW) network has been used as a flexible electrode owing to its excellent mechanical and electrical properties; however, its use as an electrode for flexible supercapacitors has been limited due to insufficient electrochemical stability. In this study, we proposed a method to resolve this issue. We employed a solution process that enabled the coating of the surface of Ag NW by a thin Au shell of ≈ 5 nm thickness, which significantly improved the electrochemical stability of the Ag NW network electrodes. Furthermore, we confirmed for the first time that MnO2, which is one of the most widely used capacitive materials, can be directly electroplated on the AACS NW network electrode. Finally, we fabricated a high-performance and flexible solid-state supercapacitor using the suggested Ag/Au/MnO2 core–shell NW network electrodes
