Coordinating Extensive Trademark Rights and Competition Policy
A trademark can be not only a word or logo, but also a color, sound, three-dimensional object, and many other nontraditional items. Corporations are increasingly seeking nontraditional trademark protection instead of or in addition to traditional patents and/or copyrights. They are also enforcing both traditional and nontraditional marks more aggressively and in ways that may lead to significant foreclosure effects. This working paper argues that these trends may raise serious competition policy concerns that should play an important role in the evolution of trademark law. For instance, trademark registration and enforcement should be subject to the same antitrust constraints as other ordinary kinds of business conduct
Analysis of the Influence of Modern Western Philosophical Thoughts on Contemporary College Students
Modern Western philosophical thoughts mainly include: Western scientism, Western pragmatism, Western humanism and so on. These modern Western philosophical thoughts have exerted a wide influence on contemporary college students, both positive and negative aspects. This paper analyzes the influence of modern Western philosophical thoughts on contemporary college students

Data-aided Underwater Acoustic Ray Propagation Modeling
Acoustic propagation models are widely used in numerous oceanic and other
underwater applications. Most conventional models are approximate solutions of
the acoustic wave equation, and require accurate environmental knowledge to be
available beforehand. Environmental parameters may not always be easily or
accurately measurable. While data-driven techniques might allow us to model
acoustic propagation without the need for extensive prior environmental
knowledge, such techniques tend to be data-hungry and often infeasible in
oceanic applications where data collection is difficult and expensive. We
propose a data-aided ray physics based high frequency acoustic propagation
modeling approach that enables us to train models with only a small amount of
data. The proposed framework is not only data-efficient, but also offers
flexibility to incorporate varying degrees of environmental knowledge, and
generalizes well to permit extrapolation beyond the area where data was
collected. We demonstrate the feasibility and applicability of our method
through four numerical case studies, and one controlled experiment. We also
benchmark our method's performance against classical data-driven techniques.Comment: Accepted version in IEEE Journal of Oceanic Engineerin

The development and application of an original 3D laser scanning: a precise and nondestructive structural measurements system
Recently, a number of non-destructive testings equipment (NDTs) which can partially replace human-conducted onsite inspections has been implemented for detecting modern civil architectural structures. However, the situation of implementing 3D laser scanning measurement technology worldwide is not optimistic: several inconvenient flaws is troubling users (e.g., heavy, costly, hard to move, hard to inspect and etc.). Therefore, a new equipment to fix those problems is urgently demanded. This paper aims to thoroughly analyze the issue and then develop a feasible. A 3D laser scanning system composed of high precision elevating platform and small 2D laser ranging sensor is designed. Manufacture Process of 3D laser scanning system is describes in detail. Based on the bending fatigue loading test, the scanning designed efficiency and feasibility had been proved by comparing and analyzing traditional measurement results. The designed 3D laser scanning system can quickly capture the information of micro-damage and depth of the structure. Its detecting performance is better than the traditional methods. To overcome the challenges of the 3D laser scanning on-site measurement technology, this article proposed the manufacture process of the 3D scanning system with a high precision, miniaturization and lightweight
