    Analysis of pre-service teachers' flow experience in educational drama practices and the effect of practices on attitudes toward creative drama courses

    Aim: The analysis of the flow experience of pre-service teachers in educational drama practices and the effect of the practices on the attitude towards creative drama lessons reveal the purpose of the study. It is of great importance for physical education teachers to use creative drama practices as an effective teaching method in physical education and sports lessons, both in terms of their personal development and professional development.   Method: The study was designed with a pre-test-post-test control group experimental design, one of the true experimental designs, and one of the quantitative research methods. In addition to the demographic information form, the "Flow Experience Scale" and "Attitude Scale towards Creative Drama Lessons" were applied to the participants as measurement tools. The distribution of the participant's demographic information was analyzed by frequency analysis. T-test independent groups analyzed the participants' pre-test and post-test scale scores, and the change in the pre-test and post-test scores of the scales according to demographic information was analyzed by t-test in independent groups and one-way analysis of variance. A regression model was tested to determine the effect of reason on anxiety. Analyses were performed with SPSS 20.0 software at a 95% confidence level. Findings and Conclusions: As a result, there was no significant difference between the attitude scale scores towards flow experience and creative drama course of the students participating in the research according to their age, gender, income level, place of residence, and activity type, and between the pre-tests and post-tests of the scales. However, a significant difference was detected between the pre-test and post-test scores of the flow experience scale anxiety sub-dimension and the flow sub-dimension of the academic achievement variable. In addition, although there was no significant difference in terms of the variables mentioned, it was noted that the flow experience flow and anxiety subscale scores were low.     Assessing patient satisfaction with obstetrics and gynaecology clinics/outpatient department in university hospital Konya, Turkey

    Background: Patient’s satisfaction is of fundamental importance as a measure of the quality of health care. Aim of the study is to assess satisfaction with services was obtained from patients who were seen in obstetrics and gynaecology clinics, a university hospital in Konya, Turkey.Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted using questionnaires among patients attending obstetrics and gynaecology clinics a university hospital in Konya. The data were collected prospectively between 2nd May and 8th July 2016. Those who agreed to participate were asked to complete a set of questionnaires immediately or face to face interview was carried out if the patient was illiterate. The study instrument was a questionnaire which comprised of two parts. The first part related to respondent’s socio-demographic background and second part on patient satisfaction questions.Results: Half of the respondents (53.3%) visited obstetrics unit and 46.7% of them visited gynaecology clinics unit. 165 (52.1%) appointments were first attendance and others (47.9) follow-up visits. The average patient satisfaction was 74.5% in this study.Conclusions: Generally, the patients were satisfied with services of gynecology and obstetrics clinics. Majority of the patients were satisfied with clinic facility, staff’s professionalism, healthcare provider’s attitude and quality of medical care

    Effects of organizational trust on identification in a university hospital in Turkey

    The organizational trust of professionals in the health sector and the levels of identification with their organizations are significant issues. In this respect we aimed to determine the levels of trust which employees at a university hospital in Konya, Turkey (235 employees) feel towards their organizations and the levels of identification with their organizations, and to discover the relationship between the levels of their organizational trust and organizational identification. We conducted our study between April -June 2013 and we used the questionnaire technique. The questionnaire consisted of demographic questions and organizational trust and organizational identification scales. The data were arranged in the SPSS and frequency, descriptive statistics, t test correlation and regression analyses were performed. As a result of the findings that emerged, the levels of healthcare employees’ trust in their organization and their identification with it were found to be high. A statistically significant difference was found by gender (male have higher average scores than female) between levels of organizational trust and organizational identification. Moreover, a very high and positive relationship (89% significance level) was found between healthcare employees’ trust and the level of identification

    The Vocational Success and condition of person’s job satisfaction can be possible with career planning planned as active, improvable and manageable. Meeting in-depth interview with 11 women academician who are directrice in Konya Universities (still as directrice or having done), their individual career planning process was desired to evaluate. The study carried out using qualitative data collection techniques.   Participants were asked questions about themselves and their individual career planning process. Demographic questions about female academicians introducing themselves include: age, marital status, title, number of children, and administrative level. And the questions about individual career planning process are; the self-evaluation process of directrice academicians, processes of individual career objectives, identification of available or potential career opportunities, preparing and implementing of participant’s career plans and directing the individual career objectives with feedback were evaluated. The significant results were obtained related to individual career planning in the process of management and academician of women academicians.  ÖzetMesleki başarı ve bireylerin mesleğinden tatmin olma durumu etkin bir şekilde planlanan, geliştirilebilen ve yönetilebilen bir kariyer planı ile mümkün olmaktadır. Konya ili üniversitelerinde yönetici pozisyonunda olan (halen yöneticilik yapan ya da yapmış olan) 11 kadın akademisyen ile derinlemesine bir görüşme yapılarak onların bireysel kariyer planlama süreçleri değerlendirilmek istenmiştir. Çalışma, nitel veri toplama teknikleri kullanılarak yürütülmüştür. Katılımcılara kendilerini tanıtıcı ve bireysel kariyer planlama sürecine ilişkin sorular yöneltilmiştir. Kadın akademisyenlerin kendilerini tanıtıcı demografik sorular; yaş, medeni durum, ünvan, çocuk sayısı, yöneticilik kademesi gibi sorulardan oluşmaktadır.  Bireysel kariyer planlama süreci ile ilgili sorular ise; yönetici pozisyonundaki kadın akademisyenlerin özdeğerleme süreci, bireysel kariyer hedeflerinin, mevcut ve olası kariyer olanaklarının belirlenmesi, katılımcıların kariyer planlarının hazırlanması ve uygulanması, geri bildirim ile bireysel kariyer hedeflerine yön verme ile ilgili süreçleri değerlendirilmiştir. Kadın akademisyenlerin yöneticilik ve akademisyenlik süreçlerinde, bireysel kariyer planlama ile ilgili önemli sonuçlar elde edilmiştir

    ‘Love your job!’ A psychosocial research on affective labour in the Turkish fine-dining sector

    Drawing on a multi-sited psychosocial ethnography of the fine-dining sector in Istanbul, Turkey, this thesis explores the vicissitudes of love and affective labour under post-Fordism. It studies (i) discourses and imagery of love for culinary work circulating around the world, and their particular articulation in the Turkish fine dining context, (ii) how local actors are enticed by, act on, embody, reify and perform the ethos of love inscribed in these representations, and (iii) how the performance of love is implicated in cooks’ affective labour, subjectivity, wellbeing and working conditions. The thesis is based on a new research methodology developed through cross fertilisation between multi-sited organisational ethnography and psycho analytically inflected research. The fieldwork was designed to trace the ethos of love in discourses, images, artefacts and performances across culinary sites. Theoretical insights from Freud and Lacan are employed to interpret the ethnographic material, shedding light on its unconscious and affective facets. The thesis engages with post-Fordist thought, the affective labour debate and psychosocial studies. It contributes to the scholarly literature by providing a rigorous analysis and elaborate theory of symbolic identification with the post-Fordist ethos, imaginary identification with cultural representations, performance of these identifications as part of affective labour, and ambivalence toward one’s job. Intricate connections between these moments in the psychosocial process of subject formation are revealed and theorised. A novel and psychoanalytically-inflected definition of affective labour is also offered, which emerges as the performative work of reproducing individuals and collectives requiring human contact, interpersonal skills, emotion management, embodiment of cultural imagery and social roles, and love. The thesis disentangles the hegemonic ethos of post-Fordist work and develops a comprehensive theory of its affectivity

    Sağlık Çalışanlarında İntikam Davranışlarına Eğilim

    İntikam davranışı, yanlış algılanan bir davranış karşılığında acı çektirmektir ve istenmeyen bir davranıştır. Çalışmanın amacı, sağlık kurumlarında hizmet veren sağlık çalışanlarının (doktor, hemşire, diğer sağlık çalışanı ve büro personeli) intikam davranışlarına eğilimlerini belirlemektir. Araştırmanın evrenini Konya/Türkiye’de çalışmanın yapılmasına izin veren iki kamu hastanesi oluşturmaktadır. Örneklem 414 çalışandan oluşmuştur. Çalışmada anket metodu kullanılmıştır. Veriler; Haziran-Ağustos 2017 tarihleri arasında “kişisel bilgi formu” ve “İntikam Ölçeği” olmak üzere iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. İntikam Ölçeği; Stuckless ve Goranson (1992) tarafından geliştirilen; Türkçeye geçerlilik ve güvenirliliği Satıcı ve diğ. (2015) tarafından yapılan 20 maddelik bir ölçektir. İntikam Ölçeği’nin güvenirliliği 0,89 olarak bulunmuştur. Verilerin analizinde, betimsel istatistikler ile t testi ve ANOVA testi kullanılmıştır. Katılımcıların % 61’i kadın, % 39’u ise erkektir. Yaş ortalaması ise 31’dir. İntikam Ölçeği’nin toplam ortalama değeri ve standart sapması 3,007±1,074 şeklindendir. Ayrıca, erkeklerin (3,200±1,192) kadınlara (2,885±0,975) göre anlamlı biçimde daha yüksek İntikam Ölçeği puanına sahip olduğu bulunmuştur. Hekim, hemşire, diğer sağlık çalışanı ve büro personeli ile intikam ölçeği toplam puanı karşılaştırıldığında aralarında herhangi bir fark bulunamamıştır (p gt;0,05). Sağlık çalışanların intikam ölçeği ortalama puanları 2,950±1,063 ile 3,249±1,070 arasında değişmektedir. Sonuç olarak, sağlık çalışanların intikam davranışına eğilim düzeyleri ortalama puanı “biraz katılmıyorum” şeklinde bulunmuştur

    Sağlık Çalışanlarının Psikolojik Yıldırma ve Algılanan Sosyal Destek Düzeylerinin İncelenmesi: Konya İlinde Bir Uygulama

    Psikolojik yıldırma, baskı ya da zorbalık şeklinde tanımlanmaktadır. Sosyal destek ise ihtiyacı olan kişiye yardım eli uzatabilen kişilerin sayısını kapsamaktadır. Psikolojik yıldırma ile baş etme yollarından biri de sosyal destektir. Bu çalışmanın amacı; sağlık çalışanlarının psikolojik yıldırma ile algılanan sosyal destek düzeylerinin incelenmesi ve iki kavram arasındaki ilişkinin tespit edilmesidir. Çalışma, tanımlayıcı tipte bir araştırmadır. Çalışma Eylül 2016-Ocak 2017 tarihleri arasında Konya ilinde bir üniversite hastanesi ve bir devlet hastanesinde yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini toplam 2901 sağlık çalışanından, örneklem büyüklüğü ise 345 kişiden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmada Aiello ve diğ. (2008) tarafından geliştirilen ve Türkçe uyarlaması Laleoğlu ve Özmete (2013) tarafından yapılan Mobbing Ölçeği ile Zimet ve diğ. (1988) tarafından geliştirilen ve Türkçe uyarlaması Eker ve diğ. (2001) tarafından yapılan Çok Boyutlu Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde; yüzde, ortalama, standart sapma, t testi, ANOVA testi, korelasyon ve regresyon analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmaya katılanların %54,2’si kadın, %45,8’i ise erkektir. Mobbing Ölçeği’ne ait ortalama puan ve standart sapma 2,810±1,639; Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği‘ne ait ortalama puan ve standart sapma 5,684±0,245 olarak bulunmuştur. Cinsiyet, yaş, eğitim durumu, unvan değişkenlerine göre Psikolojik Yıldırma puanları arasında anlamlı düzeyde farklılık bulunmuştur (

    Grounding in the unconscious: “the field” in psychosocial organizational ethnography

    Psychosocial research, which explores the unconscious and affective dynamics of organizational and social phenomena from critical perspectives, often adopts ethnographic methods. However, its locus, the unconscious, has an obscure, diffuse and dynamic nature that calls into question two central assumptions of conventional organizational ethnography: that an organization is a self-contained physical (research) site, and ethnographic research is best led by participant observation. The unconscious is produced by countless agents dispersed across time and space, making it impossible to readily identify a research site. Furthermore, psychosocial phenomena cannot be physically demarcated because a multitude of discourses, imagery, psyches, bodies, and objects are enmeshed in them. These raise contentious ontological, epistemological, and methodological questions for psychosocial researchers. In this article, we ruminate on “the field” in psychosocial organizational ethnography, seeking a robust epistemological and methodological approach to constructing and dwelling in an unconscious research site. Drawing on Lacanian psychoanalysis, we present a conceptual discussion of these issues and translate them into ethnographic methods illustrated by examples from the authors’ research. By critically re-evaluating the question of “the field,” we contribute to ethnographic studies of organizational phenomena with “fuzzy fields” without self-evident boundaries that draw on diverse onto-epistemologies
