cTNM vs. pTNM: the effect of not applying ultrasonography in the identification of cervical nodal disease
Accurate clinical staging of oral squamous cell cancer can be quite difficult to achieve especially if nodal involvement is identified. Radiologically-assisted clinical staging is more accurate and informs the clinician of loco-regional and distant metastasis
Primary intraosseous squamous cell carcinoma: A rare malignancy of the mandible
Primary Intraosseous Squamous Cell Carcinoma (PIOSCC) is a rare malignancy of the jaws which is believed to develop from the remnants of odontogenic epithelial cells with no original connection with the oral mucosa. The solid-type PIOSCC is characterised by developing de novo with no evidence of pre-existing oral or dental lesion. In this article, we present a rare case of a solid-type PIOSCC of the mandible in a middle-aged female and highlight its radiological and histopathological features, thereby, educating dentists and medical practitioners about the malignant nature of the disease
