Types of middle voice in Indonesian language (Tipe-tipe diatesis medial dalam Bahasa Indonesia)
As the national language, Indonesian language has been often used as the object of linguistic study conducted by both local and foreign linguists. In this case, this study is concerned with the types and morphological structure of verbs in Indonesian middle voice. Data was gained through interview method to some speakers of Indonesian. The data was completed by those taken from daily newspaper Bali Post. Based on the analysis it was found that the middle voice in Indonesian can be distinguished into lexical, morphological, and periphrastic middle. Lexical middle is only constructed by zero intransitive verbs and the action conducted by ACTOR refers back to the ACTOR. Morphological middle results from affixes (ber-) and (ber-/-an) attached to verb and noun bases. Periphrastic middle is possibly derived from morphological middle. Affixes commonly used to produce periphrastic middle are transitive affixes (meN-), (meN-/-kan), and (meN-/-i) with their various forms depending on the initial phoneme of the bases. Semantically, middle voice in Indonesian Language is classified into ten types in accordance with what is proposed by Kemmer, they are (1) grooming or body action middle, (2) change in body posture middle, (3) non-translational motion middle, (4) translation motion middle, (5) indirect middle, (6) emotion middle, (7) cognitive middle, (8) spontaneous middle, (9) reciprocal situation middle, and (10) middle of action of emotion

This study deals with the types of action middle found in Balinese. Data was gained through observation and interview method to some Balinese speakers. The data obtained from the speakers was completed by data produced by the writer as the native speaker of Balinese. Based on the analysis it was found that the action middles in Balinese can be classified into ten types, they are middle of grooming, middle of body change, non-translational middle, translational middle, indirect middle, middle of emotion, middle of cognition, spontaneous middle, middle of natural reciprocal, and middle of emotive utterance. Seen from their verb structures, verbs used in the action middles in Balinese can be classified into (1) intransitive verbs and transitive verbs. The intransitive verbs are classified into zero intransitive (ZO), intransitive {ma-} (IMA), intransitive {ma-/-an}, and nasal intransitive (NI). The intransitive {ma-} is divided into intransitive {ma-} with noun as its base, intransitive {ma-} with zero transitive verb as its base, and intransitive {ma-} with pre-category as its base. Instead of containing illogical meanings and are considered to be out of date with the times, these phrases of prohibition needs to be preserved by providing their comprehensible meanings to the younger generation for they are a part of living culture and language

Metaphors in Jason Mraz's Song Lyrics (An Ecolinguistic Perspective)
This research was intended to analyze Metaphor in Jason Mraz’s song lyrics based on an Ecolinguistic perspective by Kovecess theory. The objective of this research was “To describe how metaphors delineation realized in Jason Mraz’s song lyrics based on the common source domain and the common target domain”. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. The researcher used the metaphor theory by Kovecess to analyze the data. The source of the data in this research was taken from Jason Mraz’s song lyrics such as The World as I See it, Back to the Earth, and Wise Woman. The data was collected through downloading, reading, classifying, coding, describing, and interpreting the data to get a complete conclusion of the Metaphor in Jason Mraz’s song lyrics based on an Ecolinguistic perspective. The researcher analyzed lyrics that show metaphor based on the common source domain and the common target domain in the lyrics. The result showed that the metaphor delineations were revealed from the analysis process by using the mapping common source domain and common target domain by Kovecess. The researcher found 19 Metaphors include the common source domain and the target domain. It showed the condition of the world that has a remarkable place, the beauty of ecology, our role as a part of nature. The three songs also convey an implicit message about how protecting and loving the environment create harmony and live peacefully because humans and nature have an interrelation.
