The use of the T-history method to estimate thermal capacity and latent heat for RT15 and RT18 materials
The paper presents theoretical assumptions and implementation of the T-history method, which was used to estimate the thermal capacity and latent heat for phase change materials (PCMs). The research equipment, measurement system and obtained results were discussed. The T-history method was used to investigate the heating and cooling process of two PCMs, sold under the trade names of RT15 and RT18. Obtained results were compared with the manufacturer鈥檚 data. The analysis of the research results has led to the conclusion that the presented measurement method made it possible to perform a preliminary verification of the enthalpy鈥搕emperature dependency of the PCMs. The method can be also used for studying different commercial materials and estimating this dependency for materials of yet unknown properties

Analiza zastosowania magazynu ciep艂a z materia艂em PCM przy niedopasowaniu wydajno艣ci 藕r贸d艂a i odbiornika ch艂odu
W pracy om贸wiono zagadnienia projektowe zwi膮zane z doborem magazynu ch艂odu z materia艂em PCM do instalacji wody lodowatej zasilanej agregatem adsorpcyjnym. Dla analizowanego obiegu opracowano model o parametrach skupionych i wykonano obliczenia pi臋ciu r贸偶nych przypadk贸w. Analiza otrzymanych wynik贸w pozwoli艂a na okre艣lenie optymalnej wielko艣ci magazynu oraz wp艂ywu dzia艂ania element贸w automatyki
Preliminary Findings on CO2 Capture over APTES-Modified TiO2
In this work, the impact of TiO2 properties on the CO2 adsorption properties of titanium dioxide modified with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) was presented. The APTES-modified TiO2 materials were obtained by solvothermal process and thermal modification in the argon atmosphere. The prepared adsorbents were characterized by various techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (DRIFT), thermogravimetric analysis and BET specific surface area measurement. CO2adsorption properties were measured at different temperatures (0, 30, 40, 50 and 60 掳C). Additionally, the carbon dioxide cyclic adsorption-desorption measurements were also investigated. The results revealed that modifying TiO2 with APTES is an efficient method of preparing CO2 sorbents. It was found that the CO2 adsorption capacity for the samples after modification with APTES was higher than the sorption capacity for unmodified sorbents. The highest sorption capacity reached TiO2-4 h-120 掳C-100 mM-500 掳C sample. It was also found that the CO2 adsorption capacity shows excellent cyclic stability and regenerability after 21 adsorption-desorption cycles
Synthesis and styrene copolymerization of novel fluoro and iodomethoxy ring-disubstituted isobutyl phenylcyanoacrylates
Novel ring-disubstituted isobutyl phenylcyanoacrylates, RPhCH=C(CN)CO2CH2CH(CH3)2 (where R is 2-fluoro-3-methoxy, 2-fluoro-4-methoxy, 2-fluoro-5-methoxy, 2-fluoro-6-methoxy, 3-fluoro-4-methoxy, 4-fluoro-3-methoxy, 5-fluoro-2-methoxy, 3-iodo-4-methoxy,
5-iodo-2-methoxy) were synthesized by the piperidine catalyzed Knoevenagel condensation of ring-disubstituted benzaldehydes and isobutyl cyanoacetate and characterized by CHN analysis, IR, 1H and 13C NMR. The acrylates were copolymerized with styrene in solution with radical initiation (ABCN) at 70C. The compositions of the copolymers were calculated from nitrogen analysis
