A Fairness Heuristic Analysis of the Primacy Effect of Reputation on Perceived of Privacy Policy and Privacy Seals

When faced with the risk-benefit dilemma in online era, how would users make their decisions by procedural justice information as distributive justice information is uncertain? The literature implied reputation, privacy policy and seals can be regarded as the factors, which would eliminate users’ privacy concern, build trust and incentivize transaction. However, research-to- date is lacking of a comprehensive model to indicate practitioners whenever and however which factor is the core compared with others or their efforts are equal. Drawing upon the fairness heuristic theory, this paper explores the impact of the three factors on them. The results from an experimental study show that the primacy effects of reputation on perceived of privacy policy and seals exist. Theoretical and practical implications arising from our results were offered

THE INFLUENCE OF INFOMRATION SENSITIVITY, COMPENSATION ON PRIVACY CONCERN AND BEHAVIOUR INTENTION

The holdbacks of information privacy to online marketing result in scholars\u27 research passionate around privacy concern. Following the research trend, this study examined the effect of two antecedent factors--information sensitivity and compensation--and their interactions on privacy concern and behaviour intention including information disclosure, protection intention and transaction intention. Two types of information (basic information as less sensitive information;, basic and financial information in purchasing context, basic and identifiable information in job hunting context as more sensitive information) and two types of compensation (30% sale discount as low level of compensation, free job vacation information as high level of compensation) were assigned to approximately reflect the practices in the real world. The experimental results show that privacy concern has negative effect on information disclosure but positive effect on protection intention. Information sensitivity has negative effect on information disclosure and transaction intention but positive effect on protection intention. On the contrary, compensation has positive effect on information disclosure and transaction intention. Moreover, compensation negatively interacts with information sensitivity, which has positive effect on information disclosure. These outcomes imply marketers should beware of the cost-benefits level to obtain accurate personal information

Uniform Approximate Estimation for Nonlinear Nonhomogenous Stochastic System with Unknown Parameter

The error bound in probability between the approximate maximum likelihood estimator (AMLE) and the continuous maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) is investigated for nonlinear nonhomogenous stochastic system with unknown parameter. The rates of convergence of the approximations for Itô and ordinary integral are introduced under some regular assumptions. Based on these results, the in probability rate of convergence of the approximate log-likelihood function to the true continuous log-likelihood function is studied for the nonlinear nonhomogenous stochastic system involving unknown parameter. Finally, the main result which gives the error bound in probability between the ALME and the continuous MLE is established

JUMPS IN DIFFERENT LEVELS OF WATER: AN OPTIMAL ENVIRONMENT TO JUMP ON LAND

    Get PDF
The purpose of this study was to compare rate of force development (RFD) and rate of impact force (RIF) among on-land and in different levels of water jumps. Fourteen male participants were recruited in this study. Participants carried out the testing on land first and followed by testing in knee-high (LOW), trochanter major high (MID), and nasal-high (HIGH) of water. In each condition, participants performed 3 countermovement jumps (CMJ) separated by 15 sec rest. RFD and RIF were calculated. A repeated measure ANOVA was used for assessing the differences of variables among different conditions. The results showed that RFD for LOW is significantly lower than the others, and loading impact on-land is significantly higher than the others. Jumping in MID and HIGH are optimal levels of water for jumps training

European Option Pricing with Transaction Costs in Lévy Jump Environment

    Get PDF
The European option pricing problem with transaction costs is investigated for a risky asset price model with Lévy jump. By the aid of arbitrage pricing theory and the generalized Itô formula (which includes Poisson jump), the explicit solution to the risk asset price model is given. According to arbitrage-free principle, we first discretize the continuous-time model. Then, in each small time interval, the transaction costs are introduced. By using the Δ-hedging strategy, the explicit solutions of the European options pricing formula with transaction costs are given for the risky asset price model with Lévy jump

Hydrogen Therapy may be a Novel and Effective Treatment for COPD

    Get PDF
The protective effect of hydrogen (H2) on ROS-induced diseases has been proved by many researches, which demonstrated that through eliminating •OH and •ONOO–, H2 could effectively attenuate lipid and DNA peroxidation, improve cellular antioxidant capacity, and then protect cells against oxidant damage. Most of free radicals in human body are ROS, including O2•–,•OH, H2O2, NO•,•ONOO–, and so on. Under normal circumstances cells are able to maintain an adequate homeostasis between the formation and removal of ROS through particular enzymatic pathways or antioxidants. But under some pathological conditions, the balance is disturbed, leading to oxidative stress and various diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Studies have shown that ROS played a pivotal role in the development of COPD and some antioxidants were effective in the protection against the damaging effects of oxidative stress. Therefore, we hypothesize that owing to its peculiarity to eliminate toxic ROS, hydrogen therapy may be a novel and effective treatment for COPD
