In-medium modification and decay asymmetry of omega mesons in cold nuclear matter

We discuss an asymmetry of the decay Ο‰βˆ’>e+eβˆ’\omega->e^+e^- in nuclear matter with respect to the electron and positron energies. This asymmetry is sensitive to the properties of the Ο‰\omega meson self-energy and, in particular, it has a non-trivial dependence on the Ο‰\omega energy and momentum. Therefore, this asymmetry may serve as a powerful tool in studying the properties of the Ο‰\omega meson in the nuclear medium.Comment: 19 pages, 9 figure

Equation of State and Viscosities from a Gravity Dual of the Gluon Plasma

Employing new precision data of the equation of state of the SU(3) Yang-Mills theory (gluon plasma) the dilaton potential of a gravity-dual model is adjusted in the temperature range (1βˆ’10)Tc(1 - 10) T_c within a bottom-up approach. The ratio of bulk viscosity to shear viscosity follows then as ΞΆ/Ξ·β‰ˆΟ€Ξ”vs2\zeta/\eta \approx \pi \Delta v_s^2 for Ξ”vs2<0.2\Delta v_s^2 < 0.2 and achieves a maximum value of 0.940.94 at Ξ”vs2β‰ˆ0.3\Delta v_s^2 \approx 0.3, where Ξ”vs2≑1/3βˆ’vs2\Delta v_s^2 \equiv 1/3 - v_s^2 is the non-conformality measure and vs2v_s^2 is the velocity of sound squared, while the ratio of shear viscosity to entropy density is known as (4Ο€)βˆ’1(4 \pi)^{-1} for the considered set-up with Hilbert action on the gravity side.Comment: 19 pages, 13 figures.
