Diaspora as soft power a case study of Indian diaspora in the US
UU.Gone are the days, when power was defined by military sources, in other words, hard power. Now, power in terms of ideas, persuasion, which is defined as soft power, influences the world. The present paper is an attempt to study and analyze soft power as a foreign policy tool, and how Indian Diaspora (ID) as a soft power, has played a role in the promotion of bilateral relationship between India and the US
Between Research and Design: The Evolution of the Journal of Landscape Architecture
This article explores the evolution of the Journal of Landscape Architecture (JoLA). We identify the ambitions that led to the journal’s establishment and the ways in which a desire to bridge theory and practice led to a particular editorial programme rooted in research articles, design criticism, and visual methods specific to landscape architecture. Although JoLA is a peer-reviewed platform for landscape architecture, its considerations nevertheless overlap with related disciplines, revealing the existence of a recognition for an expanded field of landscape architecture. The journal acknowledges the diversity of the discipline; both as a matter of professional practice and academic research. This tension between defining the theories, practices, and methods that constitute a discipline, and the diversity that gives it richness and enables innovation, continues to inform the conception and development of the journal and presents particular challenges to its editorial aspirations
3-Anilinothiocarbonyl-4-hydroxychromen-2-one
The geometrical parameters of the title compound, C16H11NO3S, are in the usual ranges. The two aromatic residues are not coplanar and are twisted by a dihedral angle of 66.63 (6)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by N—H⋯O and O—H⋯S interactions
AN EVALUATION OF FIXED DOSE COMBINATIONS (FDCs) USED FOR TREATMENT OF DIABETES IN INDIAN MARKET
Objective: To analyse the rationality of various FDCs used in the treatment Diabetes Mellitus and to find out the irrational FDCs existing in Indian market. Material and Methods: Study Design: Analytical study. Data on FDC's available in the Indian market was collected from Current Index of Medical Specialities (CIMS) and Monthly Index of Medical Specialities (MIMS) and their rationality was analysed using a pretested tool based on FDCs listed in WHO essential list of medicines and National List of Essential Medicines (NLEM), others based on their pharmacodynamic activity, Pharmacokinetic parameters and significant drug interactions occurring due to API (Active pharmaceutical ingredients) contained within the product Result: A total of 18 combinations were analysed, among those 11 combinations were irrational. Conclusion: Predominantly irrational FDCs are being circulated in the Indian market hence through analyses by prescribers is needed before prescribing to patients in order to avoid ADR. This calls for a close scrutiny of marketed FDC's and educating prescribers to use them with great care and caution also indicates a serious review of regulatory framework for drug manufacturing and marketing.

Identification of the indigenous pest control methods adopted in jhum fields of Mokukchung district, Nagaland
The present study was conducted to document the various indigenous pest control methods in jhum fields in controlling pests. The data was collected from Mokokchung district taking 6 villages from a sample of 120 farmers practicing jhum cultivation. A total of 10 common adopted ITKs were documented, validated and triangulated. These includes seed preservation (1), crop protection from insect-pest and disease (7), crop protection from birds (1) and sowing time (1). A majority of the farmers (96.67%) perceived the indigenous pest control methods as effective in controlling the pests in the jhum fields. For the farmers in Mokukchung, jhum is a way of life and is to stay considering the socio-cultural institutions embedded with this practice along with the ITKs, their associated beliefs and perceived effectiveness.

Synthesis, FT-IR, UV-VIS, DFT studies and SCXRD structure of 1-(tert-butyl) 3-ethyl-3-(hydroxy(thiophen-2-yl)methyl)piperidine-1,3-dicarboxylate
The crystal structure of 1-(tert-butyl) 3-ethyl 3-(hydroxy(thiophen-2-yl)methyl)piperidine-1,3-dicarboxylate (C18H25NO5S) I has been determined by Single Crystal X-ray Diffraction (SCXRD) techniques. It crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pca21 with unit cell parameters a = 19.4502(13)Å, b= 6.3571(4)Å, c= 15.2577(10) Å and number of molecules per unit cell, z = 4. The intensity data have been collected at room température (293 K) and the structure has been solved by direct methods. The full matrix least-squares refinement has converged the final R-value to 0.035 for 2251 observed reflections. The piperidine ring adopts a chair conformation. The structure is stabilized by two C–H…O (intermolecular interactions) and five C–H…O (intramolecular interactions). The structural and spectral studies of 1-(tert-butyl) 3-ethyl 3-(hydroxy(thiophen-2-yl)methyl)piperidine-1,3-dicarboxylate have been carried out by using both experimental and quantum chemical techniques
