The Logos <i>Endiathetos</i> and the Logos <i>Prophorikos</i> in Allegorical Interpretation: Philo and the D-Scholia to the <i>Iliad</i>
A Hellenistic allegorical interpretation of the giants Otus and Ephialtes, perhaps the object of criticism by Aristarchus in his most explicit remarks on the allegorical method, finds a parallel in Philo. The parallel helps us better contextualize and date the interpretation, and assess Aristarchus' possible awareness of it
