In this chapter, we prove two common fixed theorems for weakly compatible mappings via an implicit relation using the common (E.A) property in intuitionistic fuzzy metric space

In this paper, we propose integral type common fixed point theorems in Menger spaces satisfying common property (E.A). Our results generalize several previously known results in Menger as well as metric spaces. Keywords: Menger space; Common property (E.A); weakly compatible pair of mappings and t-norm

IN VITRO EVALUATION OF THE ANTHELMINTIC ACTIVITY OF RHIZOME EXTRACTS OF CURCUMA LONGA (LINN.)

Objective: The current study was carried out to evaluate the anthelmintic activity of the rhizome extract of Curcuma longa as an alternative source of effective remedies for nematodiasis. Methods: The anthelmintic activity of the C. longa was assessed in vitro against Haemonchus spp., a gastrointestinal (abomasum) parasite of goats. Different concentrations of the extracts (1 mg/mL, 2.5 mg/mL, 5 mg/mL, and 10 mg/mL) in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) were tested, and the results expressed in terms of time of paralysis (minute) and time of death (minute) of the worms. Albendazole (1 mg/mL) was used as a reference (positive control) and PBS as a control group (negative control). Results: The qualitative phytochemical analysis of the methanolic extract (ME) of the plant disclosed the presence of alkaloids, glycosides, terpenoids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, phenol, anthraquinone, and carbohydrates; whereas, the aqueous extract (AE) showed the presence of alkaloids, carbohydrate, flavonoids, and saponins. Both ME and AE of the C. longa (rhizome) expressed significant efficacy (p≤0.05) in causing paralysis as well as the death of the worms within 12 h of exposure at all tested concentrations, as compared to the negative control. The rhizome extracts of C. longa showed dose-dependent efficacy in causing paralysis of the worm motility and the final progression to death. The results showed that the ME at 10 mg/mL was significantly more potent (p≤0.05) over the AE.Conclusions: This study concluded that the rhizome extract of C. longa exhibited potent anthelmintic efficacy against the nematode parasite, Haemonchus spp

In this paper we have improved the result of Saurabh Manro [7] by using the concept of occasionally weakly compatible Maps and proved some results on fixed points in menger space. Key words: Menger space, Common fixed point, occasionally weakly compatible mappings

Unilateral high division of brachial artery and its clinical significance

    Get PDF
Upper limb arterial variations are commonly encountered and have been reported in many articles. The present study showed a high division of brachial artery in the middle third of arm into its terminal branches, the radial artery laterally and the ulnar artery medially. This study is an attempt to discuss the anatomy, embryological basis and clinical implications of such variations. Knowledge of such anomalous vessels is significant from clinical point of view

Pattern study of union of two heads of biceps and its clinical significance

Background: Biceps brachii derives its name from its two proximally attached parts or ‘heads’ that is known as long head and short head. Two tendons form elongated bellies that though closely applied get fused within 7cm or so above the elbow joint. These variations should be kept in mind during surgical and diagnostic procedures done by clinicians. Methods: A total of 18 cadavers were dissected for two successive years during undergraduate and were observed for different patterns of fusion of two heads of biceps brachii. Results: The present study showed that frequency of fusion of heads of biceps brachii in its upper one-third part was observed less commonly while it was frequently observed in its middle one-third part. Conclusions: Variation in union of heads might be significant in causing compression of neurovascular structures because of their close relationship to the brachial artery and median nerve

Unilateral absence of musculocutaneus nerve and its clinical significance

Musculocutaneous nerve arises from lateral cord and supplies the muscles of front of arm and then continues as lateral cutaneous nerve of forearm. Musculocutaneous nerve has frequent variations. Nerve may be doubled or even absent. There is unilateral absence of musculocutaneous nerve in this case. Musculocutaneous nerve was seen to be absent in one case on right side. Branches arise either from lateral cord or median nerve to supply the flexor muscles of arm. Total absent musculocutaneous nerve is quiet uncommon. Hence knowledge of this variation can help clinicians in understanding the cause of weakness or paralysis of flexor muscles of arm due to median nerve injury which is unusual

Co-existence of Riche-Cannieu communications and Berretinni communications

Median nerve is formed by union of lateral and medial roots arising from the corresponding cords of the brachial plexus. Ulnar nerve arises from the medial cord of brachial plexus itself. Only few communications between the median and ulnar nerve have been reported and described in the available literature. During routine dissection of the upper limb of a male cadaver for teaching undergraduate medical students, a variation was observed in the course of median nerve and ulnar nerve communications in palm. A very rare communication was found in which there is superficial and deep communication between ulnar and median nerve was observed only in one male cadaver (1.25%). This type of communication was not found in any other cadaver so far. This dual ansa formation between branches of ulnar and median nerve by communicating branches at superficial and deep levels in palm is rare to observe in which there is co-existence of Berretini Communications and Riche-Cannieu Communications is found in one hand only

Design of rapid gravity filter using AUTOCAD and C programming

    Get PDF
The rapid rate gravity filter is commonly used in the treatment of surface water supplies. It consists of a structure to house the unit, the filter media, an under- rain system, a surface washer, and a waste disposal system. The filter area should be divided into at least two separate units to allow operational flexibility. Some form of pre-treatment of the raw water, such as sedimentation, is usually needed. In the filtering process, water flows onto the top of the filter media and is driven through it by gravity. In passing through the small spaces between the filter's grains, impurities are removed. The water continues its way through the support gravel, enters the under-drainage system, and then flows to the reservoir. It is the filter media, composed of sand or anthracite, which actually removes the particles from the water. The filter media is routinely cleaned by means of a backwashing process
