Performance Evaluation and Comparison of Algorithms for Elliptic Curve Cryptography with El-Gamal based on MIRACL and RELIC Libraries
This paper presents a comparison between two implementations of the elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) algorithm based on El-Gamal. Each implementation uses different cryptographic libraries: MIRACLand RELIC. The application of this algorithm meets the common needs of most critical embedded systems, focusing on unmanned aerial and ground vehicles (UAVs and UGVs) and addressing the particularities of each scenario, such as limitations of computing resources and energy supply. One of the challenges is to study and evaluate the impact of the use of each library via a performance evaluation based on statistical techniques. The results have presented the best solution and the influences of each algorithm on response times for each experiment, varying the sizes of keys used by the algorithms. Keywords: Cryptographic Libraries, ECC, Embedded Systems, MIRACL, Performance Evaluation, RELIC
Análise de desempenho das mulheres no ENEM / Analysis of women's performance in ENEM

Load and Performance Index for Parallel/Distributed System - Modelling and Metrics
This thesis approaches the problem of evaluating an adequate load index or a performance index, for using in process scheduling in heterogeneous parallel/distributed computing systems. A wide literature review with the corresponding critical analysis is presented. This review is the base for the comparison of the existing metrics for the evaluation of the computing systems homogeneity/heterogeneity degree. A new metric is proposed in this work, removing the restrictions identified during the comparative study realized. Results from the application of the new metric are presented and discussed. This thesis also proposes the concept of temporal heterogeneity/homogeneity that can be used for future improvements in scheduling polices for parallel/distributed heterogeneous computing platforms. A new performance index (Vector for Index of Performance - VIP), generalizing the concept of load index, is proposed based on an Euclidean metric. This new index is applied to the implementation of a scheduling police and widely tested through modeling and simulation. The results obtained are presented and statistically analyzed. It is shown that the new index reaches good results in general and it is also presented a mapping showing the advantages and disadvantages of its adoption when compared with the traditional metrics

Security and Safety Concerns in Air Taxis: A Systematic Literature Review
International audienceDifferent from traditional transport systems, such as cars or trains, which are limited by land transit space, flying cars (such as UAS, drones, and air taxis) do not occupy space with traffic. They have a degree of freedom in space and time, smaller displacement, and consequently, less stress for their users. Large companies and researchers around the world are working with different architectures, algorithms, and techniques to test air taxi transport to serve a significant proportion of people safely and autonomously. One of the main issues surrounding the diffusion of air taxis is safety and security, since a simple failure can lead to the loss of high-value assets, loss of the vehicle, and/or injuries to human lives, including fatalities. In this sense, despite significant efforts, the literature is still specific and limited regarding air taxi safety and security. Therefore, this study aimed to carry out an extensive systematic literature review of the main modern advances in techniques, architectures, and research carried out around the world focused on these types of vehicles. More than 210 articles from between 2015 and January 2022 were individually reviewed. In addition, this study also presents gaps that could serve as a direction for future research. As far as the authors are aware, no other study performs this type of review focused on air taxi safety
Integrating Cognitive Radio with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles: An Overview
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) demand technologies so they can not only fly autonomously, but also communicate with base stations, flight controllers, computers, devices, or even other UAVs. Still, UAVs usually operate within unlicensed spectrum bands, competing against the increasing number of mobile devices and other wireless networks. Combining UAVs with Cognitive Radio (CR) may increase their general communication performance, thus allowing them to execute missions where the conventional UAVs face limitations. CR provides a smart wireless communication which, instead of using a transmission frequency defined in the hardware, uses software transmission. CR smartly uses free transmission channels and/or chooses them according to application’s requirements. Moreover, CR is considered a key enabler for deploying technologies that require high connectivity, such as Smart Cities, 5G, Internet of Things (IoT), and the Internet of Flying Things (IoFT). This paper presents an overview on the field of CR for UAV communications and its state-of-the-art, testbed alternatives for real data experiments, as well as specifications to build a simple and low-cost testbed, and indicates key opportunities and future challenges in the field
