In terms of theory and practice related to occupational mental health, Sweden and France are two countries with different theoretical traditions. While Sweden is highly influenced by physiological stress-models, the scientific tradition in France is influenced by "psychodynamics of work". This research aimed to compare theory and practice related to occupational mental health in France and Sweden. As a first step, the study explored the different theoretical frameworks in both countries. In the next step, the research was bridging theory and practice. It involved semi-structured interviews conducted among 42 staff-members, working in institutions specialized in prevention and treatment of disorders related to occupational settings. The survey aimed to elucidate the reality of the work and to explore the methods recognized as most efficient among the staff members.

Pulmonary cavities following blunt chest injury

Road traffic accidents (RTAs) are the most common cause of chest injuries. In this case report, a 17-year-old male presented with left-sided chest pain and hemoptysis after an RTA. Radiological investigations showed a left-sided pneumothorax with multiple cavities in the left lower lobe of the lung and surrounding ground glass opacities, which was suggestive of pulmonary lacerations. We managed the patient conservatively and followed up after 1 month. The computed tomography thorax showed near-complete radiological resolution after 1 month. In all patients with injuries to the chest, we have to suspect pulmonary lacerations, which can present with cavities in the lung parenchyma, and manage them accordingly. As demonstrated in this case, a pulmonary laceration following a RTA can present with pulmonary cavities. Hence, this should be kept in mind during the management of the patient with a chest wall injury

Enhancing efficiency and cost-effectiveness of solar stills through natural fiber integration

Various enhancements to solar stills aim to increase their output of fresh water. This research experimentally compared the efficiency of two solar stills (SS) in terms of producing fresh water. The conventional solar still (CSS) was compared to the Coconut leaf sheath single slope solar still. Natural fibres were used to fill the basin, increasing the surface area in contact with the sun and, by extension, the rate of evaporation. Utilize its capillary effect while simultaneously putting it to use as a heat sink (thermal storage material). We calculated the exergy and thermal energy efficiency of both systems and the associated costs. Daily accumulative freshwater productivity was found to be 5170.8 gm/m2 when employing natural fibre, a 45.8 % improvement over the usual method. Solar stills made from natural fibres were discovered to have daily thermal energy efficiencies of 46.8 % and exergy efficiencies of 5 %, while CSS systems achieved 33.8 and 3.2 %, respectively. When compared to a standard solar still, which costs ₹9.68 every litre of water produced, a solar still made with natural fibre reduces that cost to just ₹6.64 per litre

Note on range extension of guitarfish Acroteriobatus variegatus in Indian seas

The stripenose guitarfish Acroteriobatus variegatus (Nair and Lal Mohan, 1973) has been listed as a Critically Endangered (CR) in the IUCN redlist for elasmobranchs. It belongs to the family Rhinobatidae (Rhinopristiformes) and among the 10 species of Acroteriobatus found in the western Indian Ocean, is the only endemic guitarfish with a very restricted distribution range, being known only from southern India and Sri Lanka
