In this paper, we numerically theorize a series of single-mode, dual-mode and three-mode nanophotonic waveguide switches by first combining inverse design algorithm with hybrid silicon-Ge2Sb2Te5 platform. More importantly, these devices realize switching functionality directly in waveguides without additional design areas. Since the waveguide acts as a bridge during nanophotonic devices, the waveguide switches can be used conveniently and widely in future nanophotonic network for optical communication and information processing. In addition, the tolerances to fabrication errors are also investigated
