Innovative environment for business development
Innovativeness is one of the main determinants for a company’s
development and when searching for the correlation between innovativeness
and development one needs to apply quantative measures. This work includes
a model for a company’s assessment in its technology
and environment innovative aspects. The concept of quantative assessment of
environment is presented through determining innovation structure
and coming up with a general innovation index. It is an important element
in creating a diagnostic tool to be applied in the area of innovativeness
and development interdependences.Preparation and printing funded by the National Agency for Research and Development under project “Kreator Innowacyjności – wparcie dla Przedsiębiorczości akademickiej

The paper presents an original concept of state matrix used as a tool for classifying the activity of innovation and enterprise centres. The DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) method is suggested for determining their efficiency. The proposed approach helps determine the mutual functional position of the centres and to analyse the dynamics of change dependent on their activity and the level of technological development. The paper provides an example of classification based on the state matrix, and the efficiency measurement performed by means of the DEA method for a selected group of innovation and enterprise centres
The Data Envelopment Analysis Method in Benchmarking of Technological Incubators
This paper presents an original concept for the application of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) in benchmarking processes within innovation and entrepreneurship centers based on the example of technological incubators. Applying the DEA method, it is possible to order analyzed objects, on the basis of explicitly defined relative efficiency, by compiling a rating list and rating classes. Establishing standards and indicating “clearances” allows the studied objects - innovation and entrepreneurship centers - to select a way of developing effectively, as well as preserving their individuality and a unique way of acting with the account of local needs. Shaping pro-engineering attitudes of young people - research results
Research background: For many years, the authors have been dealing with the issues of student inventiveness and the related innovation and creativity. The presented work refers to the sources, understood as shaping the pro-engineering attitudes of young people, which in effect translates into the creation of new, often innovative solutions in the field of technology. Purpose: The aim of the research is to identify activities related to knowledge in the field of science and technology during the period of attendance at secondary school. These activities include knowledge and skills acquired at school and other relationships between young people and science and technology resulting from passions and passions. An additional goal is to indicate proposals for development in this area, mainly concerning the teaching process. Methodology: The source of data for the conducted analyses are the results of surveys conducted in 2021. The analysis of the acquired data was carried out using the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method. The AHP method, by incorporating expert opinions, allows you to achieve an additional goal. This is an original approach to the analysis and interpretation of survey results. It will not replace classical statistical analyses of varying complexity, but it can be a kind of complement. Findings: The implementation of the research indicated a significant interest of young people in the issues of science and technology, and the obtained data allowed to take a comprehensive look at the education of young people in this area and present suggestions for the modification of teaching forms. This may contribute to reducing the shortage of engineering staff and researchers creating new innovative solutions in many countries. This will be an important factor in economic development based on innovative technologies
Estimating the Uncertainty of Tensile Strength Measurement for A Photocured Material Produced by Additive Manufacturing
The aim of this study was to estimate the measurement uncertainty for a material produced by additive manufacturing. The material investigated was FullCure 720 photocured resin, which was applied to fabricate tensile specimens with a Connex 350 3D printer based on PolyJet technology. The tensile strength of the specimens established through static tensile testing was used to determine the measurement uncertainty. There is a need for extensive research into the performance of model materials obtained via 3D printing as they have not been studied sufficiently like metal alloys or plastics, the most common structural materials. In this analysis, the measurement uncertainty was estimated using a larger number of samples than usual, i.e., thirty instead of typical ten. The results can be very useful to engineers who design models and finished products using this material. The investigations also show how wide the scatter of results is
An Analysis Of Tensile Test Results to Assess the Innovation Risk for an Additive Manufacturing Technology
The aim of this study was to assess the innovation risk for an additive manufacturing process. The analysis was based on the results of static tensile tests obtained for specimens made of photocured resin. The assessment involved analyzing the measurement uncertainty by applying the FMEA method. The structure of the causes and effects of the discrepancies was illustrated using the Ishikawa diagram. The risk priority numbers were calculated. The uncertainty of the tensile test measurement was determined for three printing orientations. The results suggest that the material used to fabricate the tensile specimens shows clear anisotropy of the properties in relation to the printing direction
Modelling of Technology Valuation in the Process of its Commercialization
Commercialization processes are modeled and analyzed from the point of view of the implementation of activities under particular stages. These issues are the subject of many studies and analyzes, which is why the extensive literature is available on this subject. Technology valuation at various stages of the commercialization process is a separate issue. Such valuation is prepared in most cases by consulting companies for determining the price in the buying and selling processes. These valuations use known methods also used in other cases, e.g., real estate valuation. The work carried out presents the author’s concept of the commercialization process model, taking into account the costs and value of the technology at various stages of the product life cycle. The model uses a stochastic approach to determine future revenues and costs, which allows estimating the value of the technology by or in determining the probability of assessment validity. The proposed stochastic approach greatly increases the chances of using the presented solutions in practical activities related to technology valuation for the purposes of purchase and sale transactions
Inbreeding depression for seed germination and seedling vigor in strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa Duch.)
Experiments leading to the procurement of subsequent inbred generations were conducted in the years 2006- 2013. Seeds obtained from open pollination and after self-pollination of four strawberry cultivars (Teresa, Senga Sengana, Kent and Chandler) and clone 1387 were used. These genotypes were evaluated for their tolerance to strong inbreeding under in vitro culture conditions. The aims of this study were to estimate the inbreeding depression of each of the progenies. During the investigation, the germination percentage as well as seedling viability were evaluated. The highest seed germination was shown for populations derived from ‘Teresa’ × open pollination (82%) and ‘Kent’ (7) S4 (78%). Seeds derived from self-pollination resulted in the lowest germination - an average of 16.8%. Generally, seed germination was significantly lower for the five S1 offspring, whose depression was 0.62, in comparison with the S4 seedlings, whose depression was 0.31. Inbred offspring showed a depression in relation to the average weight of a single seedling of 0.08 in the case of S1 progeny, whereas in the case of S4 progeny it was 0.23. The highest germination energy was shown by ‘Kent’ (7) S4 seeds (74%) and hybrids of ‘Teresa’ derived from open pollination (75%); whereas seeds obtained at the same time from self-pollination germinated 10.8% on average
Management of the Special Processes – An Experimental Study of Bent Reinforced Concrete Beams
The article presents an analysis of the results obtained from the testing of simply supported reinforced concrete beams subjected to four-point bending. The beams, with two levels of steel reinforcement (ρs1=1.26%, ρs2=0.71%), and dimensions of 0.12x0.30x3.30m, were subjected to loading involving a sudden increase in force with multiple unloading cycles to zero. The study included comparative analysis of deflection results obtained from experimental tests (calculated based on the curvature of the element and readings from measurement devices) with deflection values obtained through calculations based on two selected standards. Real values of ultimate bending moments were also compared with theoretical values. Additionally, compressive strength tests were conducted on eight cubic concrete specimens with a side length of b=150mm, obtained for each concrete batch. They constitute accompanying studies. Using standard procedures, strength and statistical parameters were estimated and evaluated, taking into account the assessment of the quality of the concrete production used to make the reinforced concrete beams. Ensuring compliance with the process of producing full-sized reinforced concrete beams with existing standard procedures, as well as attention to the quality of concrete production, contributed to achieving satisfactory results in the experimental tests. Knowledge about the impact of loading on mechanical properties enables effective management of factors shaping quality to obtain a construction material with optimal parameters
