    In this paper we suggest various methods of calculating cohesive energy, Compress ability and thermal expansion of diatomic crystals, and apply them for the particular case of alkali halides. The procedure suggested by us recently for evaluating one parameter of the potential energy function by using the molecular constants is upheld and confirmed,as the results, thus obtained, favorably compare with those based on crystal constants only
