    As a result of the stand experimental studies on the digging of cohesive soils under hydrostatic pressure by the modern flat blade having a longitudinal gap near the cutting edge, a significant reduction of resistance to digging in comparison with digging in the same conditions the conventional flat blade was found. Provided that such reduction of the soil digging resistance is due to the penetration of the water through the longitudinal gap at the front face of the blade, which substantially reduces the coefficient of friction between the front face of the blade and a soil layer. The experimental studies conducted on the stand of physical modeling for study the process of digging the soil under hydrostatic pressure. The depth of immersion of the working body in the water was simulated by creation of a corresponding hydrostatic pressure in the hermetic chamber of the stand
