Families of varieties of general type over compact bases

Let f: X -> Y be a smooth family of canonically polarized complex varieties over a smooth base. Generalizing the classical Shafarevich hyperbolicity conjecture, Viehweg conjectured that Y is necessarily of log general type if the family has maximal variation. A somewhat stronger and more precise version of Viehweg's conjecture was shown by the authors in arXiv:math/0511378 in the case where Y is a quasi-projective surface. Assuming that the minimal model program holds, this very short paper proves the same result for projective base manifolds Y of arbitrary dimension

Survival analysis of culling reasons and economic examination of production period in sow culling

The culling of the sows is an important task of the breeders and farmers, besides it is a determining factor of profitable pork production. During our research we have surveyed the data of 1969 sows in a Hungarian large-scale pig farm. For the calculation of our results we used one of the non-parametric forms of survival analysis, the Kaplan-Meier analysis. For the quantification of death intensity we applied another survival analysis model, the log-rate exponential model. We have found out the risk values of various culling reasons form the point of view of culling. Besides, we tried to quantify by an economic model how the production period of sows influences the average costs of piglets and the average costs of piglets per kilo at 2006 prices. We calculated that the 5th farrowing is the minimum cost place.Sow culling, Risk analysis, Sow productivity, Average costs of piglets, Livestock Production/Industries,

COOPERATIVE MOVEMENTS SETTING EXAMPLE FOR CLASSIC TEAMWORKS OF COUNTRYSIDES IN TRANSYLVANIA

Cooperative movements assured economic welfare of villages, led them to the way of becoming real citizens in the first half of the XXth century. By that period we can say that for improving competitivity advancing coops, and their social role is necessary. In an active coop continuous modernization is needed. This is due to global challenges and multinational companies, and also smaller dominant ones. This is why Hangya cooperative organisations are to be remembered for being the first in the Carpatian basin from the late 19th century. Manufacturers can realize their interests by building their own organizations. This is the cooperation of separate farmers, today dealing with very complicated transnational organizations. Realizing these may be the way to improve livings in the countryside, especially in the agriculture. Joining the following forms of groups is a unique and necessary way to reach these. By this the conclusion is: there must be an integrated network system for production branches controlled by coops with cooperative tenets in Transylvania. For this historical examples of helping farmers remain separate, reach markets must be known and adopted into today’s circumstances.Cooperatives of Transylvania, Judiciary bases, Improving competitiveness, Integrated product channel, Security of income, Community/Rural/Urban Development, Industrial Organization,
