Annihilation poles of a Smirnov-type integral formula for solutions to quantum Knizhnik--Zamolodchikov equation
We consider the recently obtained integral representation of quantum
Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equation of level 0. We obtain the condition for the
integral kernel such that these solutions satisfy three axioms for form factor
\'{a} la Smirnov. We discuss the relation between this integral representation
and the form factor of XXZ spin chain.Comment: 14 pages, latex, no figures
Possible direct method to determine the radius of a star from the spectrum of gravitational wave signals
We computed the spectrum of gravitational waves from a dust disk star of
radius R inspiraling into a Kerr black hole of mass M and specific angular
momentum a. We found that when R is much larger than the wave length of the
quasinormal mode, the spectrum has several peaks and the separation of peaks
is proportional to irrespective of M and a. This
suggests that the radius of the star in coalescing binary black hole - star
systems may be determined directly from the observed spectrum of gravitational
wave. This also suggests that the spectrum of the radiation may give us
important information in gravitational wave astronomy as in optical astronomy.Comment: 4 pages with 3 eps figures, revtex.sty, accepted for publication in

Three-leg Antiferromagnetic Heisenberg Ladder with Frustrated Boundary Condition; Ground State Properties
The antiferromagnetic Heisenberg spin systems on the three-leg ladder are
investigated. Periodic boundary condition is imposed in the rung direction. The
system has an excitation gap for all antiferromagnetic inter-chain coupling
(). The estimated gap for the strong coupling limit
() is 0.28. Although the interaction is
homogeneous and only nearest-neighbor, the ground states of the system are
dimerized and break the translational symmetry in the thermodynamic limit.
Introducing the next-nearest neighbor coupling (), we can see that the
system is solved exactly. The ground state wave function is completely
dimer-ordered. Using density matrix renomalization group algorithm, we show
numerically that the original model () has the same nature with the
exactly solvable model. The ground state properties of the ladder with a higher
odd number of legs are also discussed.Comment: 15 pages, LaTeX, to be published in J.Phys.Soc.Jpn. Vol. 66 No. 1
New Josephson Plasma Modes in Underdoped YBa2Cu3O6.6 Induced by Parallel Magnetic Field
The c-axis reflectivity spectrum of underdoped YBa2Cu3O6.6 (YBCO) is measured
below Tc=59K in parallel magnetic fields H//CuO2 up to 7T. Upon application of
a parallel field, a new peak appears at finite frequency in the optical
conductivity at the expense of suppression of c-axis condensate weight. We
conclude that the dramatic change originates from different Josephson coupling
strengths between bilayers with and without Josephson vortices. We find that
the 400cm^-1 broad conductivity peak in YBCO gains the spectral weight under
parallel magnetic field; this indicates that the condensate weight at \omega =0
is distributed to the intra-bilayer mode as well as to the new optical
Josephson mode.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure
About low field memory and negative magnetization in semiconductors and polymers
Ginzburg-Landau bulk magnetization of itinerant electrons can provide a
negative effective field in the Weiss model by coupling to localized magnetic
moments. The coupling enforces remnant magnetization, which can be negative or
positive depending on the sample magnetic history. Stable magnetic
susceptibility of coupled nonequilibrium subsystems with magnetization reversal
is always positive. Gauss-scale fields could be expected for switching between
negative and positive remnant moments in semiconductors with coupling at
ambient temperatures. Negative magnetization in ultra-high conducting polymers
is also discussed within the developed framework.Comment: 8 pages, no figure
