Nonperturbative Tests of Three-Dimensional Dualities
We test several conjectural dualities between strongly coupled superconformal
field theories in three dimensions by computing their exact partition functions
on a three-sphere as a function of Fayet-Iliopoulos and mass parameters. The
calculation is carried out using localization of the path integral and the
matrix model previously derived for superconformal N = 2 gauge theories. We
verify that the partition functions of quiver theories related by mirror
symmetry agree provided the mass parameters and the Fayet-Iliopoulos parameters
are exchanged, as predicted. We carry out a similar calculation for the mirror
of N = 8 super-Yang-Mills theory and show that its partition function agrees
with that of the ABJM theory at unit Chern-Simons level. This provides a
nonperturbative test of the conjectural equivalence of the two theories in the
conformal limit
Cyclic Coset Orbifolds
We apply the new orbifold duality transformations to discuss the special case
of cyclic coset orbifolds in further detail. We focus in particular on the case
of the interacting cyclic coset orbifolds, whose untwisted sectors are
Z_\lambda(permutation)-invariant g/h coset constructions which are not \lambda
copies of coset constructions. Because \lambda copies are not involved, the
action of Z_\lambda(permutation) in the interacting cyclic coset orbifolds can
be quite intricate. The stress tensors and ground state conformal weights of
all the sectors of a large class of these orbifolds are given explicitly and
special emphasis is placed on the twisted h subalgebras which are generated by
the twisted (0,0) operators of these orbifolds. We also discuss the systematics
of twisted (0,0) operators in general coset orbifolds.Comment: 30 page
Supersymmetry enhancement by monopole operators
We describe a method which allows one to study hidden symmetries in a large
class of strongly coupled supersymmetric gauge theories in three dimensions. We
apply this method to the ABJM theory and to the infrared limit of N=4 SQCD with
adjoint and fundamental matter. We show that the U(N) ABJM model with
Chern-Simons level k=1 or k=2 has hidden N=8 supersymmetry. Hidden
supersymmetry is also shown to occur in N=4 d=3 SQCD with one fundamental and
one adjoint hypermultiplet. The latter theory, as well as the U(N) ABJM theory
at k=1, are shown to have a decoupled free sector. This provides evidence that
both models are dual to the infrared limit of N=8 U(N) super-Yang-Mills theory.Comment: 29 pages, late
Implementing SOS with active objects: A case study of a multicore memory system
This paper describes the development of a parallel simulator of a multicore memory system from a model formalized as a structural operational semantics (SOS). Our implementation uses the Abstract Behavioral Specification (ABS) language, an executable, active object modelling language with a formal semantics, targeting distributed systems. We develop general design patterns in ABS for implementing SOS, and describe their application to the SOS model of multicore memory systems. We show how these patterns allow a formal correctness proof that the implementation simulates the formal operational model and discuss further parallelization and fairness of the simulator

More Three Dimensional Mirror Pairs
We found a lot of new three dimensional N = 4 mirror pairs generalizing
previous considerations on three dimensional generalized quiver gauge theories.
We recovered almost all previous discovered mirror pairs with these
constructions. One side of these mirror pairs are always the conventional
quiver gauge theories. One of our result can also be used to determine the
matter content and weakly coupled gauge groups of four dimensional N = 2
generalized quiver gauge theories derived from six dimensional A_N and D_N
theory, therefore we explicitly constructed four dimensional S-duality pairs.Comment: 33 pages, 18 figures version2 minor correction
Stochastic quantization and holographic Wilsonian renormalization group
We study relation between stochastic quantization and holographic Wilsonian
renormalization group flow. Considering stochastic quantization of the boundary
on-shell actions with the Dirichlet boundary condition for certain bulk
gravity theories, we find that the radial flows of double trace deformations in
the boundary effective actions are completely captured by stochastic time
evolution with identification of the radial coordinate `' with the
stochastic time '' as . More precisely, we investigate Langevin
dynamics and find an exact relation between radial flow of the double trace
couplings and 2-point correlation functions in stochastic quantization. We also
show that the radial evolution of double trace deformations in the boundary
effective action and the stochastic time evolution of the Fokker-Planck action
are the same. We demonstrate this relation with a couple of examples:
(minimally coupled)massless scalar fields in and U(1) vector fields in

Supersymmetry Breaking in Chern-Simons-matter Theories
Some of supersymmetric Chern-Simons theories are known to exhibit
supersymmetry breaking when the Chern-Simons level is less than a certain
number. The mechanism of the supersymmetry breaking is, however, not clear from
the field theory viewpoint. In this paper, we discuss vacuum states of pure Chern-Simons theory and Chern-Simons-matter theories of
quiver type using related theories in which Chern-Simons terms are replaced
with (anti-)fundamental chiral multiplets. In the latter theories,
supersymmetry breaking can be shown to occur by examining that the vacuum
energy is non-zero.Comment: 17 pages, 3 figures, v2) references adde
Analysis of SLA compliance in the cloud: An automated, model-based approach
Service Level Agreements (SLA) are commonly used to specify the quality attributes between cloud service providers and the customers. A violation of SLAs can result in high penalties. To allow the analysis of SLA compliance before the services are deployed, we describe in this paper an approach for SLA-aware deployment of services on the cloud, and illustrate its workflow by means of a case study. The approach is based on formal models combined with static analysis tools and generated runtime monitors. As such, it fits well within a methodology combining software development with information technology operations (DevOps)
Effective action of three-dimensional extended supersymmetric matter on gauge superfield background
We study the low-energy effective actions for gauge superfields induced by
quantum N=2 and N=4 supersymmetric matter fields in three-dimensional Minkowski
space. Analyzing the superconformal invariants in the N=2 superspace we propose
a general form of the N=2 gauge invariant and superconformal effective action.
The leading terms in this action are fixed by the symmetry up to the
coefficients while the higher order terms with respect to the Maxwell field
strength are found up to one arbitrary function of quasi-primary N=2
superfields constructed from the superfield strength and its covariant spinor
derivatives. Then we find this function and the coefficients by direct quantum
computations in the N=2 superspace. The effective action of N=4 gauge multiplet
is obtained by generalizing the N=2 effective action.Comment: 1+27 pages; v2: minor corrections, references adde
