IMPLEMENTING "GREEN" ELEMENTS INTO THE SUPPLY CHAIN - THE LITERATURE REVIEW AND EXAMPLES

Almost every operating enterprise in the market has the supply chain. Dependingon the size and nature of the enterprise, supply chain can take many forms, but the basicelements of each supply chain are as follows: suppliers, production and distribution togetherwith the common links between them. Now, in the consciousness of nearly every organizationthat works to market is the belief that one of the determinants of its continuous development isthe protection of the environment. Because of this, companies try, during their actions, tocause the least harm on natural environment. The following article presents the classic supplychain that occurs in manufacturing companies and how, the implementation of proposedsolutions into it, may bring the result that classic supply chain will become moreenvironmentally friendly and "green". Also , this article presents four companies operating invarious sectors of the economy, together with the actions taken by them to minimize theirnegative impact on the environment. Abstract: In present days, the waste management, especially municipal waste, becomes more important than before. Together with the economy development, higher numbers of products offered and bigger customer's demand, the level of waste generated by humans are getting higher as well. Non-used waste are directed to the landfills and there, have a negative impact not only on the ecological environment but also on social environment -the landfills may have a significant impact on social living conditions as well. Presented article describes how introducing the logistics aspects into municipal waste management may cause its re-use, and at the same time, has impact on landfill decreased and its negative impact on the environment. Urban planning with the help of participatory sensor networks

Perinteisiä tapoja käyttäjäkokemuksen kartoittamiseen ovat esimerkiksi asukaskyselyt ja keskustelutilaisuudet, mutta suosituksi viestintäkanavaksi noussut sosiaalinen media mahdollistaa kartoittamisen uusin menetelmin. Käyttäjät voivat halutessaan lisätä yhteisöpalveluun jakamaansa tekstiin ja kuviin erilaisia tietoja, kuten koordinaatteja ja aikaa, jotka älykäs mobiililaite on kerännyt. Älykkäät mobiililaitteet ja yhteisöpalvelut luovat yhdessä osallistavan havaintoverkon, joka kerää tietoa ympäristöstä ihmisten jakaman sisällön avulla. Tämä kandidaatintyö esittelee tutkimusten avulla erilaisien osallistavia havaintojärjestelmiä hyödyntävien menetelmien mahdollisuuksia kaupunki- ja maisemasuunnittelun apuna. Esiteltyjä menetelmiä sovelletaan kokeelliseen tutkimukseen, jossa osoitetaan niiden soveltuvuus Helsingistä saatavilla olevaan jaettuun yhteisöpalvelusisältöön. Osallistavat havaintojärjestelmät tarjoavat edullisen ja nopean tavan kartoittaa eri alueiden aktiivisuusasteita, nähtävyyksiä, ihmisten liikkumista ja kokemuksia kaupungista sekä heidän hyödyntämiään toimintoja. Ne eivät yksinään tarjoa kattavaa tulosta koko kansan kaupunkikäyttäytymisestä, koska suurin osa suomalaisista yhteisöpalveluiden käyttäjistä ovat alle 44-vuotiaita ja tulokset vaativat arviointia väärien tulkintojen välttämiseksi, mutta ne täydentävät perinteisiä menetelmiä ja antavat äänen nuorille, jotka eivät välttämättä osallistu oma-aloitteisesti kaupunki-suunnitteluun
