Attraction of \u3ci\u3ePedilus Lugubris\u3c/i\u3e (Coleoptera: Pyrochroidae) to \u3ci\u3eEpicauta Murina\u3c/i\u3e and \u3ci\u3eEpicauta Fabricii\u3c/i\u3e (Coleoptera: Meloidae) and New Food Plant Records for \u3ci\u3eEpicauta\u3c/i\u3e Spp.
Pedilus lugubris was found associated with Epicauta murina feeding on Lathyrus venosus foliage and with E. fabricii feeding on Lupinus perennis flowers. Epicauta cinerea and E. funebris were found feeding on foliage of Anemone canadensis and Physalis heterophylla, respectively. This is the first reported association of P lugubris with any species of Epicauta, and the first reported use of Lathyrus venosus by E. murina, of Lupinus perennis by E. fabricii, of Anemone canadensis by E. cinerea and of Physalis heterophylla by E. funebris

Hippodamia variegata (Goeze) (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) is a Palaearctic species that was first reported to be established in the Nearctic near Montreal, Quebec, in 1984 (Gordon 1987). Since then, this small beetle has been expanding its range in North America, a process summarized by Gardiner and Parsons (2005). It was first reported from Michigan in 2005 (Gardiner and Parsons 2005) and from Ohio in 2007 (Pavuk et al. 2007)
Critical Current of the Spin-Triplet Superconducting Phase in SrRuO
There have been two different proposals for the spin-triplet order parameter
of the superconducting phase in SrRuO; an -wave order parameter and
the multigap model where some of the bands have the line node. In an effort to
propose an experiment that can distinguish two cases, we study the behavior of
the supercurrent and compute the critical current for these order parameters
when the sample is a thin film with the thickness where is
the coherence length. It is found that the supercurrent behaves very
differently in two models. This will serve as a sharp test for the

Carrion Beetles (Coleoptera: Silphidae) of Wisconsin
The first comprehensive faunal survey of the carrion beetles (Coleoptera: Silphidae) of Wisconsin is presented. Six genera and 14 species are recorded from the state, including a new state record, Heterosilpha ramosa (Say). Nicrophorus americanus Olivier was not recovered during this study. An annotated checklist includes species-specific geographical and temporal distributions, remarks on foods and habitat, and counties of specimen collections for each species
Decoupled and linear quadratic regulator control of a large, flexible space antenna with an observer in the control loop
An analysis is performed to compare decoupled and linear quadratic regulator (LQR) procedures for the control of a large, flexible space antenna. Control objectives involve: (1) commanding changes in the rigid-body modes, (2) nulling initial disturbances in the rigid-body modes, or (3) nulling initial disturbances in the first three flexible modes. Control is achieved with two three-axis control-moment gyros located on the antenna column. Results are presented to illustrate various effects on control requirements for the two procedures. These effects include errors in the initial estimates of state variables, variations in the type, number, and location of sensors, and deletions of state-variable estimates for certain flexible modes after control activation. The advantages of incorporating a time lag in the control feedback are also illustrated. In addition, the effects of inoperative-control situations are analyzed with regard to control requirements and resultant modal responses. Comparisons are included which show the effects of perfect state feedback with no residual modes (ideal case). Time-history responses are presented to illustrate the various effects on the control procedures
Variation of the broad X-ray iron line in MCG-6-30-15 during a flare
We report results on the broad iron emission line of the Seyfert galaxy
MCG-6-30-15, obtained from the second long ASCA observation in 1997. The
time-averaged profile of the broad line is very similar to that seen with ASCA
in 1994, so confirming the detailed model fit then obtained. A bright flare is
seen in the light curve, during which the continuum was soft. At that time the
emission line peaks around 5 keV and most of its emission is shifted below 6
keV with no component detected at 6.4 keV (EW<60 eV). This can be interpreted
as the result of an extraordinarily large gravitational redshift due to a
dominant flare occurring very close to the black hole at a radius of <5m.Comment: 5 pages, accepted or publication in MNRAS Letter
Submillimeter-wave emission of three Galactic red novae: cool molecular outflows produced by stellar mergers
Red novae are optical transients erupting at luminosities typically higher
than those of classical novae. Their outbursts are believed to be caused by
stellar mergers. We present millimeter/submillimeter-wave observations with
ALMA and SMA of the three best known Galactic red novae, V4332 Sgr, V1309 Sco,
and V838 Mon. The observations were taken 22, 8, and 14 yr after their
respective eruptions and reveal the presence of molecular gas at excitation
temperatures of 35-200 K. The gas displays molecular emission in rotational
transitions with very broad lines (full width 400 km\s). We found
emission of CO, SiO, SO, SO (in all three red novae), HS (covered only
in V838 Mon) and AlO (present in V4332 Sgr and V1309 Sco). No anomalies were
found in the isotopic composition of the molecular material and the chemical
(molecular) compositions of the three red novae appear similar to those of
oxygen-rich envelopes of classical evolved stars (RSGs, AGBs, post-AGBs). The
minimum masses of the molecular material that most likely was dispersed in the
red-nova eruptions are 0.1, 0.01, and 10 M for V838 Mon, V4332
Sgr, and V1309 Sco, respectively. The molecular outflows in V4332 Sgr and V1309
Sco are spatially resolved and appear bipolar. The kinematic distances to V1309
Sco and V4332 Sgr are 2.1 and 4.2 kpc, respectively. The kinetic energy stored
in the ejecta of the two older red-nova remnants of V838 Mon and V4332 Sgr is
of order erg, similar to values found for some post-AGB (pre-PN)
objects whose bipolar ejecta were also formed in a short-duration eruption. Our
observations strengthen the link between these post-AGB objects and red novae
and support the hypothesis that some of the post-AGB objects were formed in a
common-envelope ejection event or its most catastrophic outcome, a merger.Comment: 19 pages, 13 figures, accepted to A&
