Critical Current of the Spin-Triplet Superconducting Phase in SrRuO
There have been two different proposals for the spin-triplet order parameter
of the superconducting phase in SrRuO; an -wave order parameter and
the multigap model where some of the bands have the line node. In an effort to
propose an experiment that can distinguish two cases, we study the behavior of
the supercurrent and compute the critical current for these order parameters
when the sample is a thin film with the thickness where is
the coherence length. It is found that the supercurrent behaves very
differently in two models. This will serve as a sharp test for the
identification of the correct order parameter.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figur
Supercurrent in Nodal Superconductors
In recent years, a number of nodal superconductors have been identified;
d-wave superconductors in high T_c cuprates, CeCoIn, and
\kappa-(ET)_2Cu(NCS)_2, 2D f-wave superconductor in Sr_2RuO_4 and hybrid
s+g-wave superconductor in YNi_2B_2C. In this work we conduct a theoretical
study of nodal superconductors in the presence of supercurrent. For simplicity,
we limit ourselves to d-wave and 2D f-wave superconductors. We compute the
quasiparticle density of states and the temperature dependence of the depairing
critical current in nodal superconductors, both of which are accessible

Production of the charged Higgs bosons at the CERN Large Hadron Collider in the left-right symmetric model
We study the production of the charged Higgs boson at the LHC in the
left-right symmetric model. It is shown that there exists a lower bound of the
cross section. We investigate that predicted cross sections of this model are
generally larger than those of the two Higgs doublet model or the minimal

Bilateral herpetic keratitis presenting with unilateral neurotrophic keratitis in pemphigus foliaceus: a case report
<p>Abstract</p> <p>Introduction</p> <p>We report a case of bilateral herpetic keratitis developing after rapid oral corticosteroid tapering in a patient with pemphigus foliaceus, which was followed by unilateral neurotrophic keratitis that was treated with amniotic membrane transplantation.</p> <p>Case presentation</p> <p>A 71-year-old Korean man developed bilateral herpetic keratitis one week after rapid tapering of systemic corticosteroid. He had been on high-dose oral corticosteroid and azathioprine therapy for six months for treatment of pemphigus foliaceus. Topical acyclovir ointment was prescribed. A week later, our patient's right eye had healed, but his left eye showed increased stromal edema with enlarged epithelial defects. He was prescribed oral acyclovir with topical broad-spectrum antibiotics applied to his left eye. The stromal edema cleared within a week but the epithelial defect remained unchanged. An amniotic membrane transplantation was performed on our patient's left eye, and his epithelial defect had totally healed three weeks later.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>Patients with autoimmune disease or who are on immunosuppressive therapy have a higher chance of developing bilateral herpetic keratitis. Although rare, the condition may be followed by unilateral neurotrophic keratitis. Rapid corticosteroid tapering may act as a triggering factor for viral infection or reactivation of herpes.</p
Synchronization of Chaotic Oscillators due to Common Delay Time Modulation
We have found a synchronization behavior between two identical chaotic
systems^M when their delay times are modulated by a common irregular signal. ^M
This phenomenon is demonstrated both in two identical chaotic maps whose
delay times are driven by a common^M chaotic or random signal and in two
identical chaotic oscillators whose delay times are driven by^M a signal of
another chaotic oscillator. We analyze the phenomenon by using^M the Lyapunov

Quantum Key Distribution with High Loss: Toward Global Secure Communication
We propose a decoy-state method to overcome the photon-number-splitting
attack for Bennett-Brassard 1984 quantum key distribution protocol in the
presence of high loss: A legitimate user intentionally and randomly replaces
signal pulses by multi-photon pulses (decoy-states). Then they check the loss
of the decoy-states. If the loss of the decoy-states is abnormally less than
that of signal pulses, the whole protocol is aborted. Otherwise, to continue
the protocol, they estimate loss of signal multi-photon pulses based on that of
decoy-states. This estimation can be done with an assumption that the two

LHC Signature of Mirage Mediation
We study LHC phenomenology of mirage mediation scenario in which anomaly and
modulus contributions to soft SUSY breaking terms are comparable to each other.
A Monte Carlo study of mirage mediation, with model parameters , GeV, , and , is presented. It is
shown that masses of supersymmetric particles can be measured in a model
independent way, providing information on SUSY breaking sector. In particular,
the mass ratio of gluino to the lightest neutralino for the benchmark scenario
is determined to be 1.9 \lesssim m_{\tildeg}/m_{\tilde\chi_1^0} \lesssim 3.1,
well reproducing theoretical input value of which is quite distinctive from the predictions of other SUSY scenarios in which gaugino
masses are unified at the GUT scale. The model parameters of mirage mediation
can be also determined from various kinematic distributions
Quantum Gambling Using Three Nonorthogonal States
We provide a quantum gambling protocol using three (symmetric) nonorthogonal
states. The bias of the proposed protocol is less than that of previous ones,
making it more practical. We show that the proposed scheme is secure against
non-entanglement attacks. The security of the proposed scheme against

Partially composite two-Higgs doublet model
In the extra dimensional scenarios with gauge fields in the bulk, the
Kaluza-Klein (KK) gauge bosons can induce Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) type
attractive four-fermion interactions, which can break electroweak symmetry
dynamically with accompanying composite Higgs fields. We consider a possibility
that electroweak symmetry breaking (EWSB) is triggered by both a fundamental
Higgs and a composite Higgs arising in a dynamical symmetry breaking mechanism
induced by a new strong dynamics. The resulting Higgs sector is a partially
composite two-Higgs doublet model with specific boundary conditions on the
coupling and mass parameters originating at a compositeness scale .
The phenomenology of this model is discussed including the collider

What’s inside the Mind of a CEO? The Effects of Discretionary Slack Resources on R&D Investment
This study investigates the effects of discretionary slack resources on a firm’s R&D investment. Specifically, we examine whether and how a CEO’s psychological traits play a role in the relationship between discretionary slack and R&D investment. Using a panel sample from U.S. manufacturing firms in 2006–2010, we found that slack resources lead to an increase in R&D intensity. Furthermore, this positive effect is stronger when CEOs have a strong promotion focus and perceive an addressable negative attainment discrepancy. Thus, our findings show how (a) the level of discretionary slack and (b) CEOs’ promotion focus and aspiration level jointly shape R&D investment decisions. Considering CEOs’ psychological traits contributes to a more comprehensive view of the conditions under which discretionary slack resources matter for a firm’s strategic decisions
