Reactive Power Optimization in Grid using Imperialist Competitive Algorithm

ABSTRACT: The Imperialist Competitive Algorithm (ICA) is a heuristic technique for optimization procedure. This algorithm is based on socio-politically inspired optimization strategy. It has shown better convergence rate to achieve global optimum for different optimization problems. The IEEE 30-bus test system is used to demonstrate some aspects of the application of the ICA on the reactive power market problem.
