Relating U(N)xU(N) to SU(N)xSU(N) Chern-Simons Membrane theories
By integrating out the U(1)_B gauge field, we show that the U(n)xU(n) ABJM
theory at level k is equivalent to a Z_k identification of the
(SU(n)xSU(n))/Z_n Chern-Simons theory, but only when n and k are coprime. As a
consequence, the k=1 ABJM model for two M2-branes in R^8 can be identified with
the N=8 (SU(2)xSU(2))/Z_2 theory. We also conjecture that the U(2)xU(2) ABJM
model at k=2 is equivalent to the N=8 SU(2)xSU(2)-theory.Comment: 16 pages, Latex; v2: references added; v3: Clarifications adde
Unifying N=5 and N=6
We write the Lagrangian of the general N=5 three-dimensional superconformal
Chern-Simons theory, based on a basic Lie superalgebra, in terms of our
recently introduced N=5 three-algebras. These include N=6 and N=8
three-algebras as special cases. When we impose an antisymmetry condition on
the triple product, the supersymmetry automatically enhances, and the N=5
Lagrangian reduces to that of the well known N=6 theory, including the ABJM and
ABJ models.Comment: 19 pages. v2: Published version. Minor typos corrected, references

Classification of N=6 superconformal theories of ABJM type
Studying the supersymmetry enhancement mechanism of Aharony, Bergman,
Jafferis and Maldacena, we find a simple condition on the gauge group
generators for the matter fields. We analyze all possible compact Lie groups
and their representations. The only allowed gauge groups leading to the
manifest N=6 supersymmetry are, up to discrete quotients, SU(n) x U(1), Sp(n) x
U(1), SU(n) x SU(n), and SU(n) x SU(m) x U(1) with possibly additional U(1)'s.
Matter representations are restricted to be the (bi)fundamentals. As a
byproduct we obtain another proof of the complete classification of the three
algebras considered by Bagger and Lambert.Comment: 18 page
Processing-bioprocessing of oilseed rape in bioenergy production and value added utilization of remaining seed components
Cruciferous oilseed crops accumulate relatively high concentrations of oil, proteins and dietary fibres (DF) in their seeds, in addition to bioactive components as glucosinolates and myrosinase isoenzymes (thioglucohydrolase; EC 3.2.1.147). When mixed in the presence of moisture, myrosinase isoenzymes and associated components transform glucosinolates into various types of products, which reduces the value of the extracted oil and the remaining seed components, as well as producing unwanted environmental effects due to smell and toxicity. This gives a need for special care concerning myrosinase inactivation as the initial step during processing of oilseed rape, including technologies applied for biodiesel/bioenergy production. The myrosinase inactivation is thus a critical processing step, which needs to be performed at conditions with limited negative effects on other seed components, including proteins and glucosinolates. New bioprocessing technologies are now developed at levels that allow technology transfer from laboratory scale through pilot plant to industrial scale. The extraction of glucosinolates from the seed components remaining after oil separation-pressing and/or extraction is technically possible and has proven successful with the use of bioprocessing technologies. This is also the case concerning isolation of active myrosinases. The possibilities therefore exist for extraction and formulation of glucosinolates as “natural product derived” food and plant protection agents. With the great amounts of partly de-oiled rapeseed meal resulting from bioenergy/biodiesel production, the new bioprocessing technologies call thus for attention in relation to environmental friendly production of food (vegetable oil, protein and DF products), feed and other non food products
Discovery limits for Techni-Omega production in Collisions
In a strongly-interacting electroweak sector with an isosinglet vector state,
such as the techni-omega, , the direct coupling
implies that an can be produced by fusion in
collisions. This is a unique feature for high energy or
colliders operating in an mode. We consider the processes and , both of which proceed via
an intermediate . We find that at a 1.5 TeV linear collider
operating in an mode with an integrated luminosity of 200 fb,
we can discover an for a broad range of masses and widths.Comment: To appear in the Proceedings of the 29th International Conference on

Scherk-Schwarz SUSY breaking from the viewpoint of 5D conformal supergravity
We reinterpret the Scherk-Schwarz (SS) boundary condition for SU(2)_R in a
compactified five-dimensional (5D) Poincare supergravity in terms of the
twisted SU(2)_U gauge fixing in 5D conformal supergravity. In such translation,
only the compensator hypermultiplet is relevant to the SS twist, and various
properties of the SS mechanism can be easily understood. Especially, we show
the correspondence between the SS twist and constant superpotentials within our
framework.Comment: 16 pages, no figur
Axion-Dilaton Domain Walls and Fake Supergravity
Dynamical systems methods are used to investigate domain-wall solutions of a
two-parameter family of models in which gravity is coupled to an axion, and to
a dilaton with an exponential potential of either sign. A complete global
analysis is presented for (i) constant axion and (ii) flat walls, including a
study of bifurcations and a new exact domain-wall solution with non-constant
axion. We reconsider `fake supergravity' issues in light of these results. We
show, by example, how domain walls determine multi-valued superpotentials that
branch at stationary points that are not stationary points of the potential,
and we apply this result to potentials with anti-de Sitter vacua. We also show
by example that `adapted' truncation to a single-scalar model is sometimes
inconsistent, and we propose a `generalized' fake supergravity formalism that
applies in some such cases.Comment: 43pp, 19 figures; minor corrections and extensions; one additional

Interaction between M2-branes and Bulk Form Fields
We construct the interaction terms between the world-volume fields of
multiple M2-branes and the 3- and 6-form fields in the context of ABJM theory
with U()U() gauge symmetry. A consistency check is made in the
simplest case of a single M2-brane, i.e, our construction matches the known
effective action of M2-brane coupled to antisymmetric 3-form field. We show
that when dimensionally reduced, our couplings coincide with the effective
action of D2-branes coupled to R-R 3- and 5-form fields in type IIA string
theory. We also comment on the relation between a coupling with a specific
6-form field configuration and the supersymmetry preserving mass deformation in
ABJM theory.Comment: 30 pages, version to appear in JHE
