A 25-Year Bibliometric Analysis of Allergic Rhinitis Publications from Turkey

Objective:To analyze the change over the 25 years period in the number of publications on allergic rhinitis from Turkey, and to compare the data of the four major relevant specialties.Methods:A search was conducted over 25-years between1994 and 2019 using the keywords “allergic rhinitis” and “Turkey” in PubMed®, and “allerji”, “alerji” and “rinit” in TRDizin®. The articles were grouped by specialty; namely, “Otorhinolaryngology (ORL),” “Pediatrics,” adult “Pulmonary disease” and adult “Allergy/immunology,” based on the affiliation of the first author. The total number of publications in each specialty group within the 25-year period were compared using a significance test for a difference in two proportions within the statistical assessment.Results:The 25-year results revealed 624 and 213 publications in the PubMed® and the TRDizin® databases, respectively. When the number of publications in a specific field in both databases was examined, the highest number of publications were identified in the ORL group, followed by the Pediatrics group. The number of publications in the ORL group was statistically higher than those in the “Pulmonary diseases” and “Allergy/immunology” groups in both the PubMed® and the TRDizin® databases (p=0.0001).Conclusion:The analysis of the number of 25-year allergic rhinitis publications from Turkey revealed that the academic interest of otolaryngologists in allergic rhinitis was unaffected, despite the challenges experienced in practice, with an increasing number of publications noted. Eğitim ortamında dinlenme becerileri envanteri(revize edilmiş)'nin normalizasyonu

Eğitim Ortamında Dinleme Becerileri Envanteri (EODBE)’ne uygun nitelikler kazandırılarak normalizasyon çalışması yapılmıştır. Bu çalışma ile Santral İşitsel işlemleme Bozukluğu(SİİB)’nun okullarda ve kliniklerde taranması amaçlanmıştır. EODBE ülkemizde bu amaçla hazırlanan ve kullanılacak ilk tarama envanteridir. Adaptasyonu yapılan ‘Listening İnventory For Education-Revised(LIFE-R) sayesinde öğrencilerin ve öğretmenlerin gözünden öğrencilerin eğitim süresince dinleme becerileri, dinleme ile ilgili yaşadığı zorluğun nedeni ve kendisini savunma becerileri saptanarak bozukluğun tanılanmasına ve bireyin çevresine uyum sağlamasına katkıda bulunulur. Çalışmamıza; Ankara veya Kırıkkale illerinde Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı rastgele seçilmiş bir ilköğretim veya lisede öğrenim gören, 9-18 yaĢ arasında olup, tanı almış herhangi bir işitme, konuşma ve öğrenme problemi olmayan 115 öğrenci ve bu öğrencilerin öğretmenleri dahil edilmiştir. Envanterin Türkçe’ye uyarlanması İngiliz Dili ve Edebiyetı Bölümü Türkçe ve İngilizce’ye hakim 2 öğretim üyesi/akademisyen , 1 Odyoloji ve Konuşma Bozuklukları öğretim üyesi/akademisyen ve 1 Eğitim Odyolojisi Uzmanı/öğretim üyesi denetiminde yapılmıştır. Ölçeklerdeki maddelerin anlamlarındaki tutarlılığa bakıldığında orijinal ve Türkçe formundan elde edilen maddelerin toplam puanları arasında (p<0.01) pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur ve ölçeğin orijinal kültürdeki anlamları ile eşdeğerlik sağlanmıştır. Envanterin güvenilirliğinin belirlenmesi amacıyla ölçek ve alt boyutları için Cronbach-alfa iç tutarlılık katsayıları hesaplanmıştır. Bu değerlerin yüksek çıkması, ölçeğin güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğunu göstermiştir.Yapı geçerliliğine ilişkin kanıtların elde edilmesi sonucunda özgün formun beş faktörlü yapısına uygun olduğu ve faktör analizi sonucunda yüksek yük değerlerine sahip olunduğu görülmüştür. Türkçeye uyarlanan, uzman görüşü ve onayı ile düzenlenen EODBE ülkemizde SİİB’nin taranması ve değerlendirmesinde kullanılacak olan güvenilir bir davranışsal test olarak literatürde yerini almıştır. Normalization work of Listening Skills Inventory in Educational Environment (Revised) is made with proper qualifications. With this version it is intended to scan Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) in schools and clinics. This is the first inventory used in Turkey for scanning. Thanks to Listening Inventory for Education-Revised (LIFE-R), through the eyes of students and teachers, students’ listening skills during education, reasons of difficulties while listening and self-defence skills are determined and it is contributed to the identification of individuals and adapting to their environment. In this study, 115 students aged between 9-18 that have not any diagnosed hearing, speech and learning problem, studying in a randomly selected primary or high school of Directorate of National Education in Ankara and Kırıkkale, and their teachers were included. Turkish adaptation of the inventory is made in control of two instructor mastered both Turkish and English in English Language and Literature, an Audiology and Speech Disorders instructor and an Educational Audiology specialist / lecturer . Work of language validdity of the inventory was done, after the necessary regulations it is determined to have the linguistic equivalence, reliability and validity analysis were performed. In order to determine reliability of inventory, Cronbach's alpha internal consistency coefficient for the scale and subscales were calculated. These high values showed that the scale is a reliable measurement tool. As a result of obtaining evidence for the validity of structure, it is seen that the original form is appropriate for five-factor structure and as a result of factor analysis it is found to have high load values.Looking at consistency in terms of substances in scale, there is a significant positive correlation between total scores of original form and Turkish form. Moreover, equivalence with the sense in original culture of the scale is provided. EODBE, adapted into Turkish and organized with expert opinion and approval has taken its place in literature as a reliable behavioral test for screening SIBB in Turkey
