Optimization of the Effort Preparation Process Among the Short Track Female Competitors in a Year Cycle
The aim of conducted research was an attempt to define the dynamics of aerobic and anaerobic endurance changes in the short track female competitors training during a year cycle which is dependent on the energy characteristic of training burden. Nineteen female competitors of OMKŁS Opole club and KU AZS PO Opole, were put through the examination. Eight of them were members of National Team and Olympic Team (Vancouver 2010), moreover, the competitors participated in the World Cup, World Championship, European Championship. The other examined competitors were members of National Team. With the help of terrain and laboratory tests, an official record was made on every lap time, final time of every trial, HR max and HR medium as well as the concentration of lactate in blood in fourth minute after an effort. In the thirtieth minute, after an effort, HR and lactate concentration were registered in order to define the course of restitution. Anaerobic and mixed parameters were examined by the Wingate test in 7.5% load formula of body weight. The results of researches proved that a selection of applied training burdens was not conductive to the adaptation of process according to the Mathews, Fox model (1976). In the short track, a training burden should reflect the specific of an effort in this discipline, emphasising an anaerobic energy type in a year cycle of preparations
SOMATIC DEVELOPMENT AND PHYSICAL FITNESS OF SCHOOLGIRLS WITH MILD INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES - A COMPARATIVE STUDY
This paper presents the results of a study into somatic development and physical fitness among
schoolgirls with mild intellectual disabilities and their able-bodied peers. Comparative analysis of the
height and weight of the children was carried out, and results from 60m and 600m runs, long jump,
palant ball throw and medicine ball throw were obtained.
Analysis of the data, which were collected from 2012 to 2015, revealed no statistically significant
differences in somatic development and physical fitness between schoolgirls with mild intellectual
disabilities and their able-bodied peers, who constituted a control group. The results obtained
indicate that there is a possibility of integrating schoolgirls with this type of disability with their ablebodied
peers during physical education lessons and school sports competitions. A comparative
study involving team sports would be very important for school practice
THE OPINIONS OF PARENTS OF DISABLED AND NON-DISABLED STUDENTS CONCERNING INTEGRATED EDUCATION
This paper reports the results of a study concerned with the problems of integration in education at an elementary level. 130 parents of students with various types and degrees of disability and 130 parents of students without disabilities were asked to provide feedback in this area. On average, the classes applied in the study involved 17 students without a disability and 5 with a diagnosed disability. The tool used in research was a questionnaire comprising 7 questions combined with a certificate with supplementary information (age of the child, place of residence, type of disability). Parents and teachers of integrated classes also provided information in the form of a completed questionnaire. The parents involved in the research are residents of the Opolskie Voivodeship (county) in the age range of 30-57. The research results indicate that the level of satisfaction within an integrated setting in education is higher within the group of parents of disabled students. Both groups of parents surveyed highly value the presence of two teachers in the classroom, as well as the chance to adapt the curricula to the capabilities of students with disabilities and talented non-disabled students, as well as the opportunities provided for the development of cooperation and mutual help between students. The analysis of research results also indicates poor knowledge on the part of parents regarding the system of integrated education and their lack of confidence in the educational abilities of children with disabilities. A small group of surveyed parents did not observe any positive aspects of integrated education, and stress that the crucial task of schools is informed by the work of teachers and the selection of students. During interviews with parents and teachers in integrated classes, we can note the lack of social education aimed at raising public awareness with regard to the problems of disabled students. An important problem is also associated with the lack of awareness of parents of non-disabled children concerning the values of pupil performance in an informal integrated setting
Good Health in the Individual Hierarchy of Teachers’ Values in the Context of Life Satisfaction and its Links to Other Values
System indywidualnych wartości, a także poziom satysfakcji z życia predysponuje badanych nauczycieli do pełnienia z sukcesami roli edukatorów zdrowia w środowisku szkolnym. The aim of the research was the evaluation of the position of health in the individual hierarchy of values as well as seeking the links between health, mental and physical condition, other values and the satisfaction from teachers’ life with diverse types of jobs. 193 teachers of lower secondary schools from the Opolskie province took part in the research. The list of personal values (LWO) and the life satisfaction scale (SWLS) were applied. In the process of data analysis statistical techniques were used. The character of teachers’ profession does not differentiate the research subjects according to their values and the level of life satisfaction. Good health, mental condition and physical fitness are the highest evaluated values regardless the gender of the examined people. Most teachers (63,7%) are highly satisfied with their general life quality. Only 5,7% declare low level of life satisfaction, and 30,6% – average. The life satisfaction level positively correlates with being needed by other people, as well as with the sense of humour, intelligence, bravery and resoluteness. It was correlated negatively with successful family life, good material conditions, love and friendship. However, the above-mentioned correlations are not statistically strong (p < 0,05), although they are significant. No proof was found of the link between the life satisfaction and fitness. The system of individual values, as well as the level of life satisfaction makes the examined teachers successful health educators in the school environment
