Doubly Charged Higgs Production at Future epep Colliders

The Higgs sector of the standard model can be extended by introducing an SU(2)LSU(2)_L Higgs triplet Ξ”\Delta to generate the tiny neutrino masses in the framework of type-II seesaw mechanism. In this paper, we study the pair production of the introduced Higgs triplet at future eβˆ’pe^{-}p colliders. The corresponding production cross sections via vector boson fusion process at FCC-ep and ILCβŠ—\otimesFCC are predicted, where the production of a pair of doubly charged Higgs is found to be dominant and then used to investigate the collider phenomenology of the Higgs triplet. Depending on the size of the Higgs triplet vacuum expectation value, the doubly charged Higgs may decay into a pair of same-sign charged leptons or a pair of same-sign WW bosons. In order to explore the discovery potential of the doubly charged Higgs at future eβˆ’pe^{-}p colliders, we discuss these two decay scenarios in detail and show respectively the detection sensitivity on the mass of the doubly charged Higgs.Comment: 21 pages, 9 figure

Analysis of angular distribution asymmetries and the associated C ⁣PC\!P asymmetries in three-body decays of bottom baryons

We introduce a set of observables representing angular distribution asymmetries, which can be viewed as a generalization of the forward-backward asymmetry of angular distributions, and can be used as an effective tool to search for C ⁣PC\!P violation in three-body decays of bottom and charmed baryons. We propose to search for such C ⁣PC\!P asymmetries (1) in decays with Ξ›0\Lambda^0, Σ±\Sigma^\pm, or Ξ›c+\Lambda_c^+ involved, such as Ξ›bβ†’Ξ›0D\Lambda_b\to \Lambda^0 D and Ξ›bβ†’Ξ›0ρ(770)0\Lambda_b\to\Lambda^0\rho(770)^0; and (2) in three-body decays of bottom baryons with opposite parity intermediate resonances involved. Typical examples include Ξbβˆ’β†’pKβˆ’Kβˆ’\Xi_b^-\to p K^- K^-, Ξ›b0β†’pKSΟ€βˆ’\Lambda_b^0\to p K_S\pi^- and Ξ›b0β†’pΟ€0Ο€βˆ’\Lambda_b^0\to p \pi^0\pi^-, in which the last decay channel is used as a toy model to illustrate of the basic idea.Comment: 13 pages, 1 figure, discussion on a toy model added with contribution from J.-J. Effect of BFRP Grid on Crack Propagation of Reinforced Concrete Beam with Thick-Cover Concrete

    Get PDF
For the purpose of solving the problem of large crack width in concrete beam with thick cover, BFRP grid is added to the concrete cover to control the crack development and to improve the distribution status of cracks. In this paper, the bending tests under four-point loading are adopted to investigate cracking properties of reinforced concrete beams with thick cover, in which BFRP grid is added. During test cracking load, crack width and the number of crack were recorded, which will be analysed later. Test results show that crack development of reinforced concrete beam with thick cover can be effectively controlled, and the number of cracks was increased appearing tiny and dense cracks in structure, meanwhile maximum crack width was decreased, which can meet the requirements of engineering for crack control. In addition, BFRP grid has no effect on the cracking load of the structure and can slightly increase the ultimate bearing capacity
