Evaluation in education: Why is it trending?

O presente artigo agora, com publicação, em português já foi previamente publicado em Castelhano, no livro: Qualidade da educação na Ibero-América: discursos, políticas e práticas (Monarca, 2018). O trabalho analisa as razões pelas quais vários assuntos se transformam em modas educativas, em determinados momentos sócio-históricos. Com recorte a partir dos anos 80, século XX, quando o assunto da qualidade se tornou recorrente no campo educativo, estabelecendo-se um forte vínculo com o tema da avaliação. Nesse caso, reflete sobre o porquê essas temáticas se transformam em “moda educacional”, quem faz e para quais fins e objetivosThe article that is now published in Portuguese was previously published in Spanish in “Calidad de la educación en Iberoamérica: Discursos, políticas y prácticas” (Monarca, 2018). It analyzes the reason for which diverse topics transform into educational trends in determined socio-historic moments. The analysis journeys from the 80’s onward, when, when the topic “quality” begins to be recurrent in the educational fields, establishing a strong link with the topic “evaluation”. The paper seeks to understand the reason behind the transformation of these themes into these recurrent trends and who is behind it, as well as considering its purposes and objective

Thrust tectonics of sardic age in the Rosmaninhal area (Beira Baixa, Central Portugal)

A área de Rosmaninhal (Beira Baixa, Portugal Central) foi cartografada em detalhe. A litoestratigrafia do Grupo das Beiras (parte do Complexo Xisto-Grauváquico - CXG, com idade do Câmbrico ao Proterozóico superior) foi estabelecida, o que permitiu cartografar dobras e cavalgamentos de idade sarda, entre o Ordovícico e Câmbrico, às quais são sobrepostas dobras variscas com clivagem de plano axial, produzindo estruturas de interferência. Propomos que a deformação sarda é devida à inversão dum aulacógeno em regime de transpressão dextra do Proterozóico superior ao Câmbrico no terreno

New data about stratigraphy and structure of the Vila Velha de Ródão complex syncline, SW sector of the Central-Iberian Zone, Portugal

New data about the lithostratigraphy and the progressive Variscan structure of the Vila Velha de Ródão complex syncline is presented. During the geological mapping revision was established an Ordovician-Silurian succession, very similar to the Amêndoa-Carvoeiro synform DJ (Romão, 2000). The Variscan deformation includes: early overthrusts subsequently transformed in forethrusts with duplex geometry facing to NE, folds, cleavage and linear structures (D1a and D1b) and latter crenulation, backthrusts and backfolds with anopposite facing (D1c). Their compatible progressive deformation with NE-SW maximum compression induces decollement in depth of thin-skinned type and creates triangular structures. This macrostructure is affected by late-Variscan faults, probably associated with a domino structures, of which the most important is the Ponsul reverse fault
