The team worked tirelessly to revamp the New Tricks website and in advertising, editing, and putting it together into something we are all proud of. The 2017 Literary Stunt Dogs extends our deepest gratitude to Dr. John Nelson for his direction and contributions to the magazine, and to DSU\u27s Sigma Tau Delta chapter and the English Club for their help sponsoring and funding the production. Special thanks to Chris Francis and the BrickHouse for hosting our launch party and the Madison Area Arts Council for sponsoring the event. Thanks are also in order for our editorial board as well as Deb Pauley and the staff at the Production Center. The Black Messiah album is a sonic meditation on Black life that confronts the histories of anti-Black racism in the U.S. Showcasing a powerful group of Black artists, the album combines multiple genres including gospel, rap, jazz and opera. The Black Messiah offers a counter to George Handel’s Messiah and a timely response to the Black Lives Matter protests of summer 2020
