    Curriculum Development of International Business with Language Concentration: Results of a Seven-Year Study of an American Business Executive in China

    Existing international business with language concentration curriculum research indicates that little is known about perceptions of current international executives who are working in multinational corporations. This article investigates an American international executive’s perceptions of language and cultural barriers in multiple multinational corporations in China. The researcher’s seven-year period of contact with the business executive from 2003 to 2010 led to the collection of multiple data sources through businessactivity protocol questionnaires and in-depth interviews. The international executive’s perceptions suggest that the international business curriculum development was in the following three areas: (1) language competency, (2) multicultural awareness, and (3) global awareness

    Bichromatic field generation from double-four-wave mixing in a double-electromagnetically induced transparency system

    We demonstrate the double electromagnetically induced transparency (double-EIT) and double four-wave mixing (double-FWM) based on a new scheme of non-degenerate four-wave mixing (FWM) involving five levels of a cold 85Rb atomic ensemble, in which the double-EIT windows are used to transmit the probe field and enhance the third-order nonlinear susceptibility. The phase-matching conditions for both four-wave mixings could be satisfied simultaneously. The frequency of one component of the generated bichromatic field is less than the other by the ground-state hyperfine splitting (3GHz). This specially designed experimental scheme for simultaneously generating different nonlinear wave-mixing processes is expected to find applications in quantum information processing and cross phase modulation.     Information retrieval of mass encrypted data over multimedia networking with N-level vector model-based relevancy ranking

    With an explosive growth in the deployment of networked applications over the Internet, searching the encrypted information that the user needs becomes increasingly important. However, the information search precision is quite low when using Vector space model for mass information retrieval, because long documents having poor similarity values are poorly represented in the vector space model and the order in which the terms appear in the document is lost in the vector space representation with intuitive weighting. To address the problems, this study proposed an N-level vector model (NVM)-based relevancy ranking scheme with an introduction of a new formula of the term weighting, taking into account the location of the feature term in the document to describe the content of the document properly, investigated into ways of ranking the encrypted documents using the proposed scheme, and conducted realistic simulation of information retrieval of mass encrypted data over multimedia networking. Results indicated that the timing of the index building, the most costing part of the relevancy ranking scheme, increased with the increase in both the document size and the multimedia content of the document being searched, which is in agreement with the expected. Performance evaluation demonstrated that our specially designed NVM-based encrypted information retrieval system is effective in ranking the encrypted documents transmitted over multimedia networks with large recall ratio and great retrieval precision

    A STUDY OF THE RATE OF TORQUE BETWEEN UPPER AND LOWER LIMBS OF MALE SPRINTERS

    In order evaluate the level in their strength development and to study the appropriate rate of torque among muscles at each joint so as to design criterion scientifically evaluating the magnitude of force, we assigned the sUbjects to four groups: male children (CHIL), male juveniles (JUVE), male juvenile sprinters from sports training school (JSTS), and young sprinters (YOSP). The flexors and extensor strength of their hip, knee, and shoulder joint are measured by an isokinetic test system. It is indicated in the result of the experiment the rate between high-speed strength and absolute strength of left and right knee extensors was lower than that of flexors. We have calculated and compared the relative torques of hip, knee, shoulder joint at the velocity of 600 /s using the relative peak torque of hip joint. Compared with CHIL, there was a significant increase in the knee average rate than that of shoulder in YOSP

    This paper presents an analytical approach to investigate the free vibration analysis of cracked non-uniform beam carrying spring-mass systems by finite element method and illustrates a valid and reliable damage identification method which using hybrid neural genetic technique. Firstly, based on the finite element method, the dynamic characteristics of non-uniform cracked beam carrying spring-mass systems are obtained. Then, the first five frequencies are used as input parameters by combining genetic algorithm with neural network to identify the damage. Finally, Numerical simulations of direct and inverse problems of non-uniform cracked beams carrying a spring-mass system are carried out
