Continuous Multipartite Entangled State in Wigner Representation and the Violation of Zukowski-Brukner Inequality
We construct an explicit Wigner function for N-mode squeezed state. Based on
a previous observation that the Wigner function describes correlations in the
joint measurement of the phase-space displaced parity operator, we investigate
the non-locality of multipartite entangled state by the violation of
Zukowski-Brukner N-qubit Bell inequality. We find that quantum predictions for
such squeezed state violate these inequalities by an amount that grows with the
number N.Comment: 5 pages, rewritten version, accepted by Phys. Rev.
Non-adiabatic holonomic quantum computation in linear system-bath coupling
Non-adiabatic holonomic quantum computation in decoherence-free subspaces
protects quantum information from control imprecisions and decoherence. For the
non-collective decoherence that each qubit has its own bath, we show the
implementations of two non-commutable holonomic single-qubit gates and one
holonomic nontrivial two-qubit gate that compose a universal set of
non-adiabatic holonomic quantum gates in decoherence-free-subspaces of the
decoupling group, with an encoding rate of . The proposed scheme
is robust against control imprecisions and the non-collective decoherence, and
its non-adiabatic property ensures less operation time. We demonstrate that our
proposed scheme can be realized by utilizing only two-qubit interactions rather
than many-qubit interactions. Our results reduce the complexity of practical
implementation of holonomic quantum computation in experiments. We also discuss
the physical implementation of our scheme in coupled microcavities.Comment: 2 figures; accepted by Sci. Re
Transgenic Mice Convert Carbohydrates to Essential Fatty Acids
Transgenic mice (named “Omega mice”) were engineered to carry both optimized fat-1 and fat-2 genes from the roundworm Caenorhabditis elegans and are capable of producing essential omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids from saturated fats or carbohydrates. When maintained on a high-saturated fat diet lacking essential fatty acids or a high-carbohydrate, no-fat diet, the Omega mice exhibit high tissue levels of both omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, with a ratio of ∼1∶1. This study thus presents an innovative technology for the production of both omega-6 and omega-3 essential fatty acids, as well as a new animal model for understanding the true impact of fat on human health
Study on adaptive cycle life extension method of li-ion battery based on differential thermal voltammetry parameter decoupling
Battery aging leads to reduction in a battery’s cycle life, which restricts the development of energy storage technology. At present, the state of health (SOH) assessment technology, which is used to indicate the battery cycle life, has been widely studied. This paper tries to find a way to adjust the battery management system adaptively in order to prolong the battery cycle life with the change of SOH. In this paper, an improved Galvanostatic Intermittent Titration Technique (GITT) method is proposed to decouple the terminal voltage into overpotential (induced by total internal resistance) and stoichiometric drift (caused by battery aging, indicated by OCV). Based on improved GITT, the open circuit voltage-temperature change (OCV-dT/dV) characteristics of SOH are described more accurately. With such an accurate description of SOH change, the adaptive method to change the discharge and charge cut-off voltage is obtained, whose application can prolong battery cycle life. Experiments verify that, in the middle of a battery’s life-cycle, the adaptive method to change the discharge and charge cut-off voltage can effectively improve the cycle life of the battery. This method can be applied during the period of preventive maintenance in battery storage systems
Bis(4-ethoxyphenyl) sulfoxide
In the title compound, C16H18O3S, the dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 82.7 (2)°. The O atom of the sulfoxide group is disordered over two orientations with refined occupancy factors of 0.563 (3):0.437 (3). In the crystal, molecules are linked by intermolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming chains along the b axis
