    Neutral beam current drive in a tokamak

    Neutral beam current drive (NBCD) on the EAST tokamak is studied by using Monte-Carlo simulation. The electron shielding effect to the fast ion current is taken into account by using a fitting formula applicable to general tokamak equilibria and arbitrary collisionality regime. The net currents driven by the beam are off-axis although the fast ion currents are on-axis. This is found to be due to the electron shielding effect being strong near the magnetic axis. We also investigate the dependence of NBCD efficiency on the plasma density. The results indicate that the NBCD efficiency decreases with the increase in plasma density. A simple semi-analytic estimation of the dependence of NBCD efficiency on the density is proposed and is in reasonable agreement with the results directly obtained in the simulations

    Environmental Finance:An Interdisciplinary Review

    Environmental finance has gained considerable attention globally as an emerging interdisciplinary research area. This study uses bibliometric analysis to systematically review major studies on environmental finance-related areas published since the 1970s. Through a bibliometric analysis of 892 environmental finance-related articles sourced from the Web of Science database, we identified the main research streams and illustrated the trending research themes of environmental finance. We find that publications related to environmental finance have increased exponentially over the past decade. Current research streams include corporate and social re- sponsibility (CSR), climate negotiations, natural gas price volatility, national policy, and cost comparisons. Further analysis of the recent five years of literature shows that emerging research topics include climate finance, sustainable finance, firm value, climate risk, and green bonds. Finally, we conclude with a future research agenda for environmental finance

    Path Planning for Autonomous Vehicle Based on a Two-Layered Planning Model in Complex Environment

    The autonomous vehicle consists of perception, decision-making, and control system. The study of path planning method has always been a core and difficult problem, especially in complex environment, due to the effect of dynamic environment, the safety, smoothness, and real-time requirement, and the nonholonomic constraints of vehicle. To address the problem of travelling in complex environments which consists of lots of obstacles, a two-layered path planning model is presented in this paper. This method includes a high-level model that produces a rough path and a low-level model that provides precise navigation. In the high-level model, the improved Bidirectional Rapidly-exploring Random Tree (Bi-RRT) based on the steering constraint is used to generate an obstacle-free path while satisfying the nonholonomic constraints of vehicle. In low-level model, a Vector Field Histogram- (VFH-) guided polynomial planning algorithm in Frenet coordinates is introduced. Based on the result of VFH, the aim point chosen from improved Bi-RRT path is moved to the most suitable location on the basis of evaluation function. By applying quintic polynomial in Frenet coordinates, a real-time local path that is safe and smooth is generated based on the improved Bi-RRT path. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed planning model, the real autonomous vehicle has been placed in several driving scenarios with different amounts of obstacles.     Basophils Produce IL-4 and Accumulate in Tissues after Infection with a Th2-inducing Parasite

    Using mice in which the eGfp gene replaced the first exon of the Il4 gene (G4 mice), we examined production of interleukin (IL)-4 during infection by the intestinal nematode Nippostrongylus brasiliensis (Nb). Nb infection induced green fluorescent protein (GFP)pos cells that were FcɛRIpos, CD49bbright, c-kitneg, and Gr1neg. These cells had lobulated nuclei and granules characteristic of basophils. They were found mainly in the liver and lung, to a lesser degree in the spleen, but not in the lymph nodes. Although some liver basophils from naive mice express GFP, Nb infection enhanced GFP expression and increased the number of tissue basophils. Similar basophil GFP expression was found in infected Stat6−/− mice. Basophils did not increase in number in infected Rag2−/− mice; Rag2−/− mice reconstituted with CD4 T cells allowed significant basophil accumulation, indicating that CD4 T cells can direct both tissue migration of basophils and enhanced IL-4 production. IL-4 production was immunoglobulin independent and only partially dependent on IL-3. Thus, infection with a parasite that induces a “Th2-type response” resulted in accumulation of tissue basophils, and these cells, stimulated by a non-FcR cross-linking mechanism, are a principal source of in vivo IL-4 production

    The myosin superfamily is a group of molecular motors. Autoimmune diseases are characterized by dysregulation or deficiency of the immune tolerance mechanism, resulting in an immune response to the human body itself. The link between myosin and autoimmune diseases is much more complex than scientists had hoped. Myosin itself immunization can induce experimental autoimmune diseases of animals, and myosins were abnormally expressed in a number of autoimmune diseases. Additionally, myosin takes part in the pathological process of multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, autoimmune myocarditis, myositis, hemopathy, inclusion body diseases, etc. However, research on myosin and its involvement in the occurrence and development of diseases is still in its infancy, and the underlying pathological mechanisms are not well understood. We can reasonably predict that myosin might play a role in new treatments of autoimmune diseases

    Overexpression of Polo-like kinase1 (PLK1) in chondrosarcoma and its implications for cancer progression

    Polo-like kinase1 (PLK1) is a new therapeutic target for osteosarcoma with good application prospects. Whether PLK1 is highly expressed in chondrosarcoma and whether PLK1 can be a potential therapeutic target for chondrosarcoma are worth exploring. However, PLK1 expression in chondrosarcoma is scarcely investigated. Therefore, we collected 11 cases of chondrosarcoma and 26 cases of osteochondroma with complete clinical pathological data and used immunohistochemical staining to detect the expression of PLK1 in chondrosarcoma and osteochondroma and then studied its significance and relationship with clinical pathological parameters. Our results showed that the positive expression rate of PLK1 in chondrosarcoma tissue (90.91%, 10/11) was significantly higher than the rate of osteochondroma tissues (53.85%, 14/26) (
