    Endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal surgery for unusual sellar lesions: eight cases and review of the literature

    BackgroundPreoperative imaging for some unusual lesions in the sellar region can pose challenges in establishing a definitive diagnosis, impacting treatment strategies.MethodsThis study is a retrospective analysis of eight cases involving unusual sellar region lesions, all treated with endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal surgery (EETS). We present the clinical, endocrine, and radiological characteristics, along with the outcomes of these cases.ResultsAmong the eight cases, the lesions were identified as follows: Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) in one case, Lymphocytic hypophysitis (LYH) in one case, Cavernous sinus hemangiomas (CSH) in one case, Ossifying fibroma (OF) in two cases; Sphenoid sinus mucocele (SSM) in one case, Pituitary abscess (PA) in two cases. All patients underwent successful EETS, and their diagnoses were confirmed through pathological examination. Postoperatively, all patients had uneventful recoveries without occurrences of diabetes insipidus or visual impairment.ConclusionOur study retrospectively analyzed eight unusual lesions of the sellar region. Some lesions exhibit specific imaging characteristics and clinical details that can aid in preoperative diagnosis and inform treatment strategies for these unusual sellar diseases

    The shipbuilding industry demands intelligent robot, which is capable of various tasks without laborious pre-teaching or programming. Vision system guided robots could be a solution for autonomous working. This paper introduces the principle and technique details of a vision system that guides welding robots in ship small assembly production. TOF sensors are employed to collect spatial points of workpieces. Huge data amount and complex topology bring great difficulty in the reconstruction of small assemblies. A new unsupervised line segment detector is proposed to reconstruct ship small assemblies from spatial points. Verified using data from actual manufacturing, the method of this paper demonstrated good robustness which is a great advantage for industrial applications. This paper’s work has been implemented in shipyards and shows good commercial potential. Intelligent, flexible industrial robots could be implemented with the findings of this study, which will push forward intelligent manufacturing in the shipbuilding industry

This paper aims to summarize and elucidate recent research on the impact of sleep chronotype on psychological well-being and to explore possible underlying mechanisms at the neural level.     Investigations on Field Distribution along the Earth’s Surface of a Submerged Line Current Source Working at Extremely Low Frequency Band

    A numerical analysis on field distribution along the Earth’s surface of a line current source submerged in the ground is conducted in this paper to investigate the potential of the extremely low frequency (ELF) technology in the envisioned long-distance communication techniques. The problem is modeled as a submerged horizontal electric dipole (HED) in a two-layered homogeneous half space and solved by the combined numerical methods of the Romberg-Euler method and Gauss-Laguerre method. The model is validated by experimental results with only a maximum 10% error at 9 Hz around 490 m. Meanwhile, the study shows that the ELF signals emitted by a submerged line current source can transmit at least 1 km with a current sensor sensitivity of 0.1 pT. These results indicate the possibility of applying of ELF technology to long-distance communication or the long-distance transmedia detection
