Comment on "Remark on the external-field method in QCD sum rules"

It is proved, that suggested by Jin modified formalism in the external-field method in QCD sum rules exactly coincides with the formalism used before. Therefore, unlike the claims of ref.1, this formalism cannot improve the predictability and reliability of external-field sum rule calculations in comparison with those, done by the standard approach. PGPE theory of finite temperature collective modes for a trapped Bose gas

We develop formalism based on the projected Gross Pitaevskii equation to simulate the finite temperature collective mode experiments of Jin et al. [PRL 78, 764 (1997)]. We examine the m=0m=0 and m=2m=2 quadrupolar modes on the temperature range 0.51Tc−0.83Tc0.51T_c-0.83T_c and calculate the frequencies of, and phase between, the condensate and noncondensate modes, and the condensate mode damping rate. This study is the first quantitative comparison of the projected Gross-Pitaevskii equation to experimental results in a dynamical regime.Comment: 15 pages, 16 figure

Let A be a finite set of integers. We prove that if |A| is at least 2 and |A+A| is 3|A|-3, then one of the following is true: 1. A is a bi-arithmetic progression; 2. A+A contains an arithmetic progression of length 2|A|-1; 3. |A| is 6 and A is Freiman isomorphic to the set {(0,0),(0,1),(0,2),(1,0),(1,1),(2,0)}; 4. A is Freiman isomorphic to a set in either the form of {0,2,...,2k} union B union {n} for some non-negative integer k at most n/2 -2 or the form of {0} union C union D union {n}, where n=2|A|-2, B is left dense in [2k,n-1], C is right dense in [1,u] for some u in [4,n-6], D is left dense in [u+2,n-1], B,C,D are anti-symmetric and additively minimal in the correspondent host intervals

Frequency-dependent ratchet effect in superconducting films with a tilted washboard pinning potential

The influence of an ac current of arbitrary amplitude and frequency on the mixed-state dc-voltage-ac-drive ratchet response of a superconducting film with a dc current-tilted uniaxial cosine pinning potential at finite temperature is theoretically investigated. The results are obtained in the single-vortex approximation, i.e., for non-interacting vortices, within the frame of an exact solution of the appropriate Langevin equation in terms of a matrix continued fraction. Formulas for the dc voltage ratchet response and absorbed power in ac response are discussed as functions of ac current amplitude and frequency as well as dc current induced tilt in a wide range of corresponding dimensionless parameters. Special attention is paid to the physical interpretation of the obtained results in adiabatic and high-frequency ratchet responses taking into account both running and localized states of the (ac+dc)-driven vortex motion in a washboard pinning potential. Our theoretical results are discussed in comparison with recent experimental work on the high-frequency ratchet response in nanostructured superconducting films [B. B. Jin et al., Phys. Rev. B 81 (2010) 174505].Comment: 13 pages, 11 figure
